Both the 32 inch and 78 inch box levels are super durable. Unlike my old set which one warped and the other broke in half when I dropped it while using it, these two are made of aluminum and made to be light weight and last for a lifetime. Furthermore, I like that these two levels have shock absorbing end caps which are removable to protect against damage to the levels. These even take it to the next level by being magnetic.

Both levels have nicely milled surfaces with high visibility vials that are guaranteed to be accurate to 0.0005 per inch in all working positions. They have strong rare-earth magnets that hold securely to metal surfaces. Their endcaps are easily removable for use as a straight edge or scribing tight to walls and into corners. This set is designed for finish carpenters to use for hanging doors, but the 32″ level is a nice in between size for a 24″ and a 48″ and the 78″ is handy when a 6 foot level is a little short. Like all Empire box levels it comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the frame and the vials.

In a word – EXCEPTIONAL! To test the magnetic ability of the level, I set it against the side of my car. The level wasn’t going anywhere. I tested both the 32 inch and the 78 inch. The bubbles are great to see with or without glasses. That is based on 1.75 reading glasses. The lines are so brilliant you cannot miss your mark. The hand grip is awesome. They are delightfully comfortable.The rubber ends are great for not marring the surfaces and are removable if you choose, but also stay very firmly into place. The 78 inch level reaches nicely from the floor to the top of the jamb and makes it a cinch see even the slightest bow in the jamb. The finish on all surfaces of the levels is the true definition of perfection. Wow! There is obviously much pride at all levels of this company.

The Box level jamb set is a nice addition to your tool box. The set works well beyond setting and leveling new installation of doors.The 72 inch level works good for setting concrete forms, leveling decks, and headers for patio roofs.The 32 inch level is good for counter tops, cabinets, and gates.The nice thing is that you get both levels in the same package.Accurate, lightweight, easy to see, these are well worth the investment.

I wanted a jamb level set but the magnets are not as strong as models from 3 years ago .Milwaukee now own’s Empire now and must have changed the earth magnets . What a shame…..

I have an older house and after 40 plus years of settling some of the doors are not quite plumb. I decided if I was going to fix them I might as well do it right. These levels are exactly what I needed they are the right size to quickly check to see where the problem is and what needs to be changed.The construction is very nice with easy to read levels and detachable bumpers so you don’t worry working over a hard floor. The magnetic side just makes it cooler, I can just store them on a metal cabinet until I need them.
