Compact, wireless, and designed for high resolution photos, Epson’s PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab uses MicroPiezo inkjet technology to create detailed prints at 5760 x 1440 dpi at up to 5 x 7″, ideal for your snapshots and family pictures. It works with 3.5 x 5″, 4 x 6″, and 5 x 7″ paper, as well as No. 10 envelopes, for producing your most common and convenient photo sizes. Also, it is capable of producing a 4 x 6″ photo in about 36 seconds.
On top of all this, it offers borderless printing, Auto Photo Correction, and thanks to a 2.7″ LCD and SD card slot it can function without a computer. Mobile printing is an option with Wi-Fi Direct and this works with a wide variety of different protocols, including Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.
The PM-400 can hold up to 50 sheets of plain paper for documents or 20 sheets of thicker glossy photo paper. There is also an option for single sheets up to 23.6 mil for more specialized media. Additionally, for connection you can either plug in using a USB 2.0 cable or connect the printer to the network using Wi-Fi.

I have had my PM-400 for over two years and am very pleased with the ease of operation and the quality of the prints. I would give it 5 stars if it consistently would interface wirelessly with my laptop. It prints with no problems from an SD card, but generally won’t from my laptop. I have reloaded the drivers a number of times, and it readily will print a test print from the laptop, but won’t recognize the laptop when I try to print wirelessly from it. The laptop is running Windows 10, and I use Photoshop Elements 2018 for processing. Perhaps the problem is with Win 10, or the laptop itself, yet it will print a test print.

I purchased the printer about 2yrs ago and am really satisfied with the performance of the printer, however the thing that is most disappointing is that you can not get the ink from any store, you have to order it, which is bad, so if you purchase this printer be sure to order extra ink

Have had for a month or two. It was plug and play. I am so pleased that it does 5 x 7 in addition to 4 x 6 (saves me from having to print 5 x 7’s on a large printer and then cutting them down). Pictures are crisp and high quality. Buy it!

I bought this as a backup for the Canon Pixma 100, I ended up returning the Canon and keeping the Epson PM400. I am now looking a model that will allow me to print up to 11×14 print with sharp imagines.

I bought this printer to use in my RV and it exceeded my expectations. I now use it at home too, it is so convenient, and the quality of the print is terrific. My adult kids and I sat around the table, me with my computer and them with their phones and between us we printed over 100 photos. They also loved the printer, it was so much fun. We all just absolutely love, love this printer, the kids can even borrow it, it is so portable. Great product.

it connected to my WiFi one time, after that it tells me my printer is busy. I tried everything, but something is not working on the printer.

This is a nicely built compact unit, but details in the photos get lost in dark areas. I wish it were more crisp. I’d say the photo quality is just a step down from what you’d get at the drug store. Also, setting this unit up to print wirelessly and remotely via email was not intuitive, but once you’ve done it, it works well.

The printer does a great job producing high grade snapshot prints from either a cell phone or a camera. It helps me to print in larger format by producing an image that highlights problem areas that can be corrected before doing a larger print. The colors and overall quality are very impressive.

I had this printer since 2015. I like the fact that you can print 5×7 photos also, that’s the main reason why I bought it in the first place. But what I really like about this printer is that you can not use it for months on end, and the print heads never clogged on me. Overall a great printer.

Fantastic small printer. The quality of the pictures are better than any I have gotten done with a Photo Center. Wish I had gotten one sooner. Highly recommend.

Received my printer yesterday. I did Live Chat with B&H to get answers on printing of my paintings. Wonderful chat. I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the ink cart. installed. After that I printed pictures using my memory card out of my 80d camera. The pictures were great. I would recommend the PM-400.

I purchased this item to use at a event coming up in march. I printed a few photos using a flash drive and it perform very well. The photo was crisp and the colors where great. I have not tried using it with a computer yet. We will be printing around 2-300 photos at this event and will update this review.

This printer works perfectly for our main use: making prints of photos we make with our cameras and phones. It performs the task very easily and the prints are great.

Bought if for my wife as a Christmas present. I selected this over the other small printers because or the picture size versatility and my personal experience with Epson printers. The setup was easy. We set up on a home network and did prints from an IPhone. The picture quality is surprisingly good. Clean and crisp colors. I am not a professional photographer and love the ease of use and fun result. Highly recommend. I do reviews because I rely on them.
