Compact, wireless, and designed for high resolution photos, Epson’s PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab uses MicroPiezo inkjet technology to create detailed prints at 5760 x 1440 dpi at up to 5 x 7″, ideal for your snapshots and family pictures. It works with 3.5 x 5″, 4 x 6″, and 5 x 7″ paper, as well as No. 10 envelopes, for producing your most common and convenient photo sizes. Also, it is capable of producing a 4 x 6″ photo in about 36 seconds.
On top of all this, it offers borderless printing, Auto Photo Correction, and thanks to a 2.7″ LCD and SD card slot it can function without a computer. Mobile printing is an option with Wi-Fi Direct and this works with a wide variety of different protocols, including Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.
The PM-400 can hold up to 50 sheets of plain paper for documents or 20 sheets of thicker glossy photo paper. There is also an option for single sheets up to 23.6 mil for more specialized media. Additionally, for connection you can either plug in using a USB 2.0 cable or connect the printer to the network using Wi-Fi.

Bought this printer one year ago. The price was quite reasonable. It was easy to set up and the wireless connectivity eliminates one more wire from being attached to my desktop. The picture quality has been excellent. The printer has been very reliable with no problems to date. The ink usage is reasonable. I would definitely recommend to others.

when I got this printer did not open right away. When i tryed the printer it was dread past return window so contacted epson and they sent a new printer. It arived and dead also and have been fighting with them to send a new power cord.now have 2 dead printers

I use this as an event photographer (fancy way of saying I’m like the old Polaroid Man at the club). Prints are sharp with great color and print out in approximately 40 seconds (4 X 6 inch prints) when I send them to the printer from my laptop.

for its price should have included a micro usb cable. does not allow full range of paper choices. one ink cartridge is a bad design. if one color is low, must replace entire cartridge.

I just received today and got it hooked up with no problems. I printed out a picture and it printed it out just like it looks on my computer. I had a Epson PM-240 but it finally quit working for me so I bought this one. I was told by our techs at work that the print heads probably needed to be repaired, so I just bought a new printer.

Excellent little home printer! I’m a Scrapbooker and I got it to print my photos from home as I was scrapbooking. I can print photos directly from my phone and iPad. This printer is a must have for scrapbookers. The quality of the photos are great. I used the Epson premium gloss paper. I printed some photos at @ and then printed the same ones with the Epson and the Epson photos were much better quality and more true to color. I definitely recommend this printer for photographers that print photos at events. You won’t be disappointed!!

Don’t get me wrong, this printer works just fine but it’s predecessors were so much easier to use and edit photos. Now you have to know before you select photos the size and layout you want which is not practical on SD cards with thousands of photos. If you make the mistake of selecting photos and change your mind about the layout, it will remove all of your selected photos and you have to go back and select them again-a real pain when it is 600 out of 1300 photos. Also, after printing, the photos remain selected requiring you to go beck through and unselect each photo. The only feature that is an improvement is WiFi and being able to print 5×7 but I don’t use the feature frequently enough to wish they had change the model.

The quality of the prints from this printer is very good. However in order to get the best chance at a good print you need to use the included Epson software. The software looks like it was written in the 1990s. The interface is very poor particularly when trying to do simple edits such as cropping.

This is a great compact printer. It was easy to take with me on a scrapbooking weekend and I did not have to worry about printing pictures ahead of time and only printed what I needed. The quality of the photos was great. I also like that you can print not only 4×6 but also 2×3 and 5×7 sizes.

Well designed, excellent color and photo quality although black and white photos are produced with a bluish tinge. A very fast-printing Picturemate. Would like to see a lighter/darker printing option available on previous models reintroduced. Would also like to see the ink cartridge available in retail stores. This model seems to do some self-cleaning regularly which enables the printer to produce consistently wonderful prints.
