Take on demanding print jobs with ease by using the highly-capable WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Epson, which even packs in scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. Using PrecisionCore inkjet printing technology, users will enjoy sharp, vivid documents at up to 4800 x 1200 dpi while also conserving resources. The printer is quite fast, able to work at ISO speeds of up to 24 ppm in black and 22 ppm in color. Also, it can work with a variety of media types up to large banners measuring 8.5 x 47.2″ and offers automatic duplexing in every mode, to save on paper and time. Along with all these features, the printer is able to be set up as a wireless unit, benefitting from both Wi-Fi Direct and NFC for direct connection to a smart device.
Scanning, copying, and faxing is made possible through the inclusion of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed and a 50-sheet ADF. An optical scan resolution of 1200 dpi helps users capture sharp, detailed images. General media handling is done via two 250-sheet paper trays, allowing users to load multiple media types at the same time. Users will benefit from intuitive operation as well thanks to a large 4.3″ color touchscreen and a front USB port for directly printing from or scanning to a portable drive. Additionally, standard USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity is available along with built-in Wi-Fi.

Great quality printing, efficient ink use, but the printer nozzles went bad on my first ET-2750.It was replaced by Epson with no fuss. Then after 6 months and less than 200 pages the printer nozzles went bad. I have become an expert at cleaning the nozzles after doing it over a dozen times in succession and at advised intervals. I don’t want to trash this refurbished printer because it continues to print great in black ink, the scanning works perfectly, it copies black text clearly, and the Bluetooth connection is flawless. So easy to set up. I want to stick with the eco tank product so as to not have to recycle dozens of ink cartridges. But I am hesitant to take a chance on another one that might have printer nozzle problems. What to do??

I’ve had this printer for a while now and the ink goes away very fast with less print count compared to other printers. I try to print b&w but somehow it will still eat up the other color inks and won’t let you print anything if one is empty. The ink is overpriced. What a gimmick!

I just recently bought this printer about a week and a half ago and already I’ve used it more than the 3527 that I replaced it with. It’s been great with printing and scanning documents that I needed for school. I haven’t tried the fax function yet, but hopefully it’ll work just as great as all the other function. I’d recommend the purchase of EPSON products to all my friends.

Worst decision I ever made. I use my Cannon more often than this Epson due to all of the down time I have with the Epson.

From the time that I received my Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All-in-One Printer, I was quite impressed. The printer comes with all necessary functions weather used as a at home family printer or an office based one. I used the printer for my home business while going back to school and I have been left asking for nothing more from the printer. My previous printer wasn’t wireless and only had one paper tray, upgrading to my Epson was quite nice with these features. The dual paper trays came in very handy while working on multiple projects at once. The ability to continue working and not have to stop to change out the size and types of papers that I was printing on was a huge time saver. I will say that I do wish that the printer came with a USB cable to connect as a wired printer not just wireless. The only reason I say this is that when I first received my printer I had technical difficulties with my internet provider, which made setting up my printer difficult until my issues were resolved. On that same note, having a wireless printer is incredibly helpful in allowing me to move around my house with my laptop without being tied down to my desk. The quality of the printing was impressive and I have not had any problems technical difficulties thus far. Setting up my printer was quite easy and the instructions were simple, yet clear. I feel that this printer would be a good fit for just about anyone. The size is larger than my last printer but, you have to expect that with a printer that can do everything that you ask. The only function that I have not been able to try out yet is the fax option because of my home set up. However, if it works as well as the ability to print both sides, scan, and switch between the printer trays, I have no doubt I won’t have any complaints there either. The only issue that I found was in setting up the wireless connectivity with my older computer from the cd, I had to try a few times before I was successful. When I connected to my newer computer I set it up manually and had no troubles, but there is a good chance of operator error there. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I really like the printer but the cost of the ink cartridges is way too high. It cost almost half the cost of the printer to get a set of cartridges with the black being the XL cartridge.

I was intrigued with notice that you would not have to ever buy any more expensive ink cartridges with this printer. This claim is true and a great saver for us who print a lot of gray scale sheets.

I haven’t used it much so far. I just bought it. It’s printing nicely. Only concern I have is the difficulty with putting in the ink cartriges. Very difficult. Plus the instructions to enable me to find my printer were incomplete.

This review is just for the initial installation and setup. Following the packaging instructions was easy and made for a very quick simple setup. From the time I unpacked the printer until a “test page” was printed was approx. 1/2 hour. Excellent, no issues. If you have even a limited skill in computer hardware, and read and follow the instructions, there will be no problem getting your printer “up and running”.

Although the first one I brought works good, the second one did not; I’ll see how this one works.

Purchased this as a replacement from the previous version (WF 4540). It gets the job done. Fast printing but I have always disliked the sounds that come from the WF line on startup as it sounds like it is about to break down. They really should work on the noise factor. The Scan setup from display panel is confusing but I figured out how to scan from the computer which is much easier. Overall, it is a good home office printer for my small business.
