Take on demanding print jobs with ease by using the highly-capable WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Epson, which even packs in scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. Using PrecisionCore inkjet printing technology, users will enjoy sharp, vivid documents at up to 4800 x 1200 dpi while also conserving resources. The printer is quite fast, able to work at ISO speeds of up to 24 ppm in black and 22 ppm in color. Also, it can work with a variety of media types up to large banners measuring 8.5 x 47.2″ and offers automatic duplexing in every mode, to save on paper and time. Along with all these features, the printer is able to be set up as a wireless unit, benefitting from both Wi-Fi Direct and NFC for direct connection to a smart device.
Scanning, copying, and faxing is made possible through the inclusion of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed and a 50-sheet ADF. An optical scan resolution of 1200 dpi helps users capture sharp, detailed images. General media handling is done via two 250-sheet paper trays, allowing users to load multiple media types at the same time. Users will benefit from intuitive operation as well thanks to a large 4.3″ color touchscreen and a front USB port for directly printing from or scanning to a portable drive. Additionally, standard USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity is available along with built-in Wi-Fi.

I bought this a month ago, and I am SUPER UNHAPPY with it. Last all-in-one I bought, the scanner was SUPER easy to use. Now, my husband and I together can’t get this crazy thing to scan… we feel like we have to have a minor degree in programming to understand how to utilize the scanner. I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I wouldn’t have bought this.

I did a lot of research before selecting the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All in One Printer. I am so happy with the purchase. When printing, first page out is fast. Love the fact that it has two paper trays so I’m not constantly having to refill the tray. I have done some scanning which is very different from my previous printer. It will take some getting used to. One feature that I have not set up is the print from mobile phone. Unit is a compact size. I can choose to print in color or black only. Printing is very good quality.

I’ve had this about 2 months now. As a printer it works well; one-sided or 2. It is difficult for it to find my desk top within my wifi for scanning, though it has no trouble with the print features. It shows that it’s there but it will not link for scanning. On screen scanning controls are a bit unintuitive, but once you sort out the somewhat unexpected structure of the settings it works really well.

One feature missing, and that is why 4 stars, is we would have liked eco tank on this model. Would have been very willing to pay the extra cost of eco tank.

I like the speed of the printer; very fast. I really like the quality of the scans. Pdf’s look almost like they were generated with software instead of a scanner. I don’t like that it doesn’t have a rear paper tray. After I bought it I later realized, because of the paper path, that I won’t be able to print on card stock which I occasionally like to do. Another feature I don’t like is that the adjustable LCD control panel gets in the way of changing paper in the upper tray. Also, my old epson printer that died had a really good ink system where the ink lasted a really lone time. I have my doubts about this printers ink cartridges.
