Take on demanding print jobs with ease by using the highly-capable WorkForce Pro WF-4740 All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Epson, which even packs in scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. Using PrecisionCore inkjet printing technology, users will enjoy sharp, vivid documents at up to 4800 x 1200 dpi while also conserving resources. The printer is quite fast, able to work at ISO speeds of up to 24 ppm in black and 22 ppm in color. Also, it can work with a variety of media types up to large banners measuring 8.5 x 47.2″ and offers automatic duplexing in every mode, to save on paper and time. Along with all these features, the printer is able to be set up as a wireless unit, benefitting from both Wi-Fi Direct and NFC for direct connection to a smart device.
Scanning, copying, and faxing is made possible through the inclusion of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed and a 50-sheet ADF. An optical scan resolution of 1200 dpi helps users capture sharp, detailed images. General media handling is done via two 250-sheet paper trays, allowing users to load multiple media types at the same time. Users will benefit from intuitive operation as well thanks to a large 4.3″ color touchscreen and a front USB port for directly printing from or scanning to a portable drive. Additionally, standard USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity is available along with built-in Wi-Fi.

I got this printer today and I have not been able to set it up on 2 of my 3 computers. The driver installation gets to a certain % (10, 14, or 15 depending on which time I run setup) and just stalls. I had to download everything to get it set up on the 3rd computer but even that has not worked for the other 2.

Three reasons for the 5-star review: 1. Setup was seamless and firmware updates install flawlessly. 2. Printing is great, fast, paper path never jams, and VERY convenient to have second paper drawer (that I use for envelopes). 3. Scanning and copy features are very robust with Epson’s scanning software providing a great balance of ease and advanced features.

It only tells you your printer needs service. It doesn’t say what color is low. You have to go to settings which is kind of hidden. Then changing the actual cartridge is difficult, it doesn’t want to fit. Then it doesn’t recognize the new cartridge. This is a very poorly designed piece of equipment, you would be wise to avoid.

I purchased this printer yesterday. My mother had a horrible experience with a competitor and I knew I wanted a brand that was going to offer more. So far this is what I know. Whomever designed the packaging was brilliant. First – the side foam came up easily and then a bag with a handle to lift it out of the box! And it did not rip! Next = the tape to hold everything tight – they actually turned the edges over on one side to EASILY pull the tape off.it was like a guide – pull here! Brilliant. Then the set up – so ridiculously easy. So often instruction terms do not resemble the words used on the screen – they matched. Plus the set up was so easy. I mean easy – and quick. Talk about recognizing what would make the buying experience incredible – right out of the box.
