Ideal for the home or home office, this Expression Premium XP-6100 All-in-One Printer, dubbed a "Small-in-One" by manufacturer Epson, is a slim, powerful printer that also has scan and print functionality. The XP-6100 has a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi and can print at speeds up to 15.8 ppm and 11.3 ppm for black and color prints, respectively. The printer uses Epson’s Claria Ink system, which combines dye-based and pigment-based inks for exceptional color tones. Up to 99 copies can be made at a variety of settings and resolutions at 15 cpm or 8.2 cpm for black and color, respectively. Printer settings and status are displayed via a 2.4" color LCD screen on the front of the device, and wireless printing is available from an iPad, an iPhone, an Android tablet, or a smartphone. In addition to all of these features, the XP-6100 also offers voice-activated printing for an array of jobs, plus built-in USB and memory card slots and PictBridge for direct printing.

The Epson Expression Premium XP-6100 is power in a small package. This all-in-one is small (a tab bit heavy) but definitely seems as though it is built to last. Initial Setup- With the instructions provided getting this all-in-one set-up was a breeze, it took about 15minutes including ink install and connecting to my devices. There are two different modes that can be used to setup the Wi-Fi connection and while I tried both the push button WPS was the simplest. Printing, Copying, Scanning The biggest flaw with printing is having to manually pull the paper tray out, other than that the pages print quickly and clear, images are not streaky, and it seems like the ink dries quickly as well. I have scanned documents to my laptop and directly to a usb drive with very little effort. There are additional software tools which you can download to enhance photo printing and scanning. I like the ability to connect to my cell phone and also the ability to send the scanned document to a destination of my choice. Display Screen The display screen which is used to change settings, view images, and select the built-in templates for printing is easy to read, the font could be a little bigger but it’s fine when I’m wearing my glasses (LOL). When selecting or adjusting different features the button on the keypad that you would use to control that feature is displayed on the screen. Software/Firmware Updates I absolutely love that I can update the firmware directly from the machine itself, I don’t always have my laptop powered on so not having to boot it up to handle something like this is a plus for me. Ink Super affordable which is a plus! I am so sick of buying printers and the ink is half the price of a new printer, with this machine I don’t have to worry about that. Overall, I am extremely happy with this printer, the pros definitely outweigh my con of having to manually pull out the paper tray I am happy. It definitely seems to be durable and I can’t wait to see what other things I can do with it! I hope that my review of the Epson Expression Premium XP-6100 Small-in-One Printer helps you when deciding to make a purchase. I bought this printer got it home and set it up. It burned through the ink cartridges quite fast. When I bought the printer, I bought a full set of cartridges not knowing there were some in the printer box. Unfortunately, there is a difference noted by a code of “I” between replacement and initial cartridges. This printer WILL NOT let you use cartridges marked “I” unless it is installed during the first setup. However, there is no prompt to inform you during initial setup that you are not using a cartridge marked “I”. Now I have a full set of cartridges that are actually 100% useless. I now have to buy another full set.

Working perfectly, only 2 small (?) problems: 1. Unable to work online only with USB connection. 2. Scan – change the name of document after scanned document is saved

– bad ink cartridge upon arrival – firmware update made 3rd party ink unusable, must by expensive Epson ink – printer continues to not be found on network, have to uninstall and reinstall constantly on both a PC and Macbook – steer clear, this printer is horrid

Wow! Talk about features. My new Epson Expression Premium XP-6100 Small-in-One-Printer does it all. No more running to get copies made, no more ordering prints of my pictures online, it does it all and right from my home office! And fast! I am sincerely impressed. One of my favorite features it the remote access printing. I can send a print job from any of my devices even when I am not home straight to my printer and it will be waiting for me when I arrive to get it. The quality of the pictures and prints is clear, clean, color vibrant. Let me tell you, my kids are even having fun with our new printer. They had a Lemonade Stand last week and printed flyers and signage right from their tablets. The voice activation is just an added plus. I use it to print everything, from my daily list of activities to my grocery list. It makes making lists a little more fun. Thumbs up from my crew. I won’t ever own any other printer. “This is a review for the Epson Expression Premium XP-6100 Small-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” and I am thankful I was chosen.

I used an Epson 6000 from 2011 to 2020 and was so sad when the belt to the ink holder broke and I was told that it could not be repaired! So I started my extensive research to replace it. I looked at every brand and came back to the SMALL IN ONE Epson 6000 series. I am happy! My sadness at not being able to repair my first Epson 6000 workhorse (I was an elementary music and band/choral teacher for 26 years used it daily since 2011 until retiring in 2018 and I prepared mountains of stacks of lesson plans!) has subsided because I realize this new SMALL IN ONE 6000 series will do everything I need! I am getting ready to self publish my memoirs for a 43 year teaching career.

User friendly, very easy to set up, took couple min. Prints nice. Just trying to figure out how to just print with the black pigment ink

I bought this printer awhile ago, but started using it a few weeks ago. I ran the ink out of the o ld one. I love this printer so much more than the old one. Set up was fast and easy. It’s a fast printer. It can handle thicker paper with no problem, even taped to plain paper. I was able to color over the lines with no smearing.

I bought this over a month ago. a bit of a challenge hooking up the scanning portion. but I finally figured it out. It prints pretty fast and I like that.

As always, a pleasure doing business with B and H. This printer is small and sturdy. For now, only use as a copier without need for computer or internet service. It worked perfectly as soon as I followed the easy steps. Looking forward to using the other features in the future.

Just what I needed. Good quality. Only problem is the screen you use to make choices (copy etc) is on panel that you have to flip up to pull out the tray for finished printing…inconvenient and awkward to use. Otherwise highly recommend.

I first want to start off with how simple/easy it is/was to set this printer up! It had very simple/easy instructions to follow on how to set it up to your computer and they were very easy to understand. There were quite a few steps that you had to go through for the alignment, ink, etc., so that was a little frustrating, but nothing you don’t have to do with other printers. After setting up the alignment, making sure the ink is good, setting up the wifi (if you have decided to use wifi), etc., you are ready to print, yay! Next, let’s talk about the printer itself! It is wifi compatible; so, you can either connect it to wifi and print wirelessly or you can connect it via a cord and print that way, completely your coice/preference! If you are wanting or needing to print via cable, you will have to buy one if you don’t already have one, as it does not come with one. The speed for printing has been great so far and is relatively quiet when printing, which is a great plus for me! I do have one con about the printer; it has what they call an ‘output tray’, this is where the paper will lay when the printer is done printing. This output tray can be pushed in when not in use, allowing the printer to be a bit more compact, BUT, this output tray HAS to be pulled out in order for the printer to print, which can be a bit tedious for people like me! I love the idea of being able to make it more compact, but this is a pain when I am in a different room and I am trying to print something and I cant because I have to walk all the way into the other room to pull the tray out first. I personally feel that it defeats the purpose of it being wireless. The front screen is not a touchscreen, this can be upsetting for some, but it was not much of a deal breaker for me. The front (where you load paper and where the output tray is) does all close up when not in use, making it very sleek and compact for your area. You can print, copy, print photos and scan from this printer, so it’s very useful! To conclude this review, I have had a good experience with this printer so far. I love how easy it was to set up, the speed of it, the various jobs you can do with it and how sleek/compact it can be for your workspace! As mentioned before, the only con for me is the output tray feature, I do wish this was different! This is the best printer that I have used in awhile. I like the look and the design of this printer. I must say that this printer has so many features that delivers great quality copies, photos, and many more projects. The speed is so fast , that with just a few clicks I have stunning photos and copies. The clarity of this printer is super great. I like that I can do so many projects, almost as many as I would a professional copy store. The ease of having wireless printing is a plus for me because I can do so many task while multi -tasking. I also love that I can print from any of my smart devices with or without a router. YAY for this smart tech printer. This printer bricked after I downloaded a firmware update. It will only allow the Epson brand cartridges.

I wrote my original review on 12/7/20. Since then I have had time to give this a proper assessment. It’s prints okay, but the tray and loading features are terrible. If you don’t have the paper or it’s tray exactly where it belongs you’re going to have trouble. I’m also not a fan of all-in-one printers now that I see how they work. I would definetly go back to a gravity feed type printer in a minute. If you’re serious about your production, purchase a stand-alone scanner and forget about the all-in-ones.
