I have been using this for a bit over a month. It took a bit to get the optimal settings down and I had an issue when I ran photopaper through it wrong side up – rollers got dirty. Hoever, with that taken care of I have printed numerous DVDs and photos with no issue. Color is as good as my 10 year old “prosumer” Canon printer and the prints are more reliable.

To be honest, I had never had an Epsom printer before the XP-970. And setting up a new printer can be daunting. But now I can say this is an absolutely awesome printer if you are results-driven. First of all, I love the size. It is not bulky, but compact and light-weight. Set-up was so easy, and I had absolutely no problem or issues with the wireless printing or scanning. The directions were clear and concise. The color prints are so bright, accurate and laser sharp and dried quickly. Every photo was picture perfect. And I really liked the larger format printing which took very little time. (The one thing I will recommend is to use high quality paper.) And it handles just as well with black and white copies. I appreciate the way the tray comes out automatically…just another plus even though I wish it held a bit more paper. Other nice features include the large touchscreen that tilts up at a great angle, superb connectivity and voice-activating printing. Being a new customer to Epson, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t want a new printer with a large learning curve. To say that I am most happy and pleased is understatement. This printer has exceeded my expectations. To anyone who wants a top quality, well priced all-in-one that allows you to copy, scan and print professional looking photos wirelessly, I say you cannot beat the Epson XP-970. I purchased this as a replacement for the R380 photo printer as the print size was what I needed. The scanner was a waste of money as I use the V330 scanner. Took a little getting use to as the instructions never explained the back feed or the waste tank. Have not owned this product long enough to rate it.

I really hate to say it but I’m not impressed at all. It’s a lot louder when it prints than what I’m used to. It’s already messed up 4 -6 print jobs and just isn’t as user friendly as the printers I’ve had and used unfortunately. Purchased to replace my Stylus Photo 960 that reached its end of life.(full waste ink tank) This model has a replaceable waste ink tank so should not have the same problem.

The price is great. The print quality for PHOTOS is excellent. The print quality for regular copy paper is so so & the printer is not fast. I used to have the XP960 which was very similar. This is reasonably small, but I would love a printer that is a little smaller. I wish it were a little quieter, faster, & better looking. (Why are all printers black, big, & clunky looking?). I bought this because I needed a printer in a hurry & overall it is pretty good. Despite my criticisms, I am happy with it.

I bought this printer as a replacement for my HP C8180 All-in-One Photosmart printer. HP had discontinued supporting it, and no longer offered a printer optimized for photo printing, with individual cartridges (5 color plus black). After a frustrating “help” conversation trying to find out the capability of HP’s Tri-Color cartridges, I decided on the Epson. The first picture printed confirmed I had made the right choice. Also, set up was a dream, requiring only a power cord, no data cable.

This is a great machine which does all that I require it to do. However, the turn-up process was complicated with some crucial information not included with instructions. I eventually got everything working, but only with the help on three calls to your technical help line with 4 assists from e-mails for technical help.

Almost sets itself up right out of the box. Step by step instructions were easy to follow. Took about 15 minutes start to finish. The printer runs so quiet I wasn’t sure if it was printing. There are to different paper trays one tray is for 5×7 and one for regular paper sizes. I like this feature because I don’t have to keep changing paper between the two sizes. I’ve printed numerous items. Photos come out excellent. I’ve done both the 5×7 and the 4×6. There is a feature to print from disc or thumb drive (I haven’t tried that option yet). I am a fan and user of Epson since years and their products have been very loyal to me. I have got an amazing experience using epson xp-970 since I love photography and art is my passion, this all in one printing, copying and scanning has helped me bring my creativity into colors and has made my work easy-breezy. Right out of the box, setting up this printer was no hassle ( if you are a frequent printer user ) and even if you’re not, reading the manual would be enough to understand its features and installation. There is a CD inculded in the box which is the software that you have to download inorder to complete the setup for your computer. Additional apps are needed to be downloaded in your mobile / tablet for it to operate wirelessly e.g google print. Epson creative print app is another app where your creativity begins. It has alot of features and options which includes printing of coloring books ,create custom cards ( I created a Valentine’s day card with it and it turned out fantastic), creating labels, tags , printing logos. It has a slot of cd/ dvd so that you can print directly printable cds / dvds ( useful for presentations). I am using this printer for about one week and it has literally the game changer. This printer has printing resolution 5760×1440 dpi and scanning resolution 4800 dpi which gives an incredible picture and photo print with absolute clarity and vibrant colors just like professional photos. It has outstanding features and can print photos on almost all types of papers ( i have tried on epson premium glossy paper and the results were phenomenal) with borderless photos and size up to 11 x17. The fast printing of the photos in about 10-12 second is another great feature which i would like to mention and that too with the convenience of your mobile or tablet because of the fact that its wireless with excellent connectivity not only with wifi but also with my google home and other voice enabled devices. Its lightweight, compact with sturdy built and a large responsive screen that automatically comes up when turned on and a foldable flap to scan which keeps my originals safe. I am now truly being able to enjoy all of the photos when they are gorgeously printed because viewing photos in mobile and having them printed are two different things and i believe one should definitely try and see how beautiful it feels to have them in your hand. I just had to replace my second Epson XP-960 (first one I was happy with; the second one was nowhere near as reliable. I had to clean the head every other time I printed something after 6 months or so even from one print to another the same day. The XP-970 has a better clean head system by the looks. The printer does misprint 4×6 Epson premium glossy paper frequently – feeds 2 at the same time and the first sheet gets 1/4″ of the print and the rest is printed on the second sheet. It wastes a lot of paper. print quality is great otherwise. Price is reasonable.

This purchase was to replace a failing printer. I chose Epson based on reviews and a friend’s recommendation. I chose the XP970 specifically because research showed it to be ideal for printing guitar tablature, and creating high-quality labels for my products and prints of my watercolor paintings. So far I’ve only printed documents, guitar tablature, and labels, but this printer did all those tasks incredibly well, and a lot faster than my last printer! It’s a bit big for my space but I’ve made it work, and I’m definitely not complaining as I adore this printer and have yet to find a disappointing feature. The paper trays are easy to use and not at all flimsy as stated in some reviews. Setup was incredibly simple; my PC does not have a disc tray so I used Epson’s online download for this product, it was a breeze as all directions are given online and on the printer’s touch screen. I started with the ink tanks that came with the printer, I recommend purchasing the XL ink tanks to put more time between ink purchases, but honestly, for as much as I’ve printed thus far, I’d say the ink lasts the amount of time you’d want and expect. Again, not one bad thing to say about the XP970! I give it five stars all day long!

This is a great quality printer I love it. I like the color of it (black) it looks nice and it is easy to use and it was easy to setup and to use the user Manuel I had no issues with it. I connected it to my phone as well as my tablet and laptop with no problems it was really simple to do. I also connected the printer to my Wi-Fi using the control panel on the printer. It was easy to scan as well as adjust the paper setting and to select different sizes to print pictures. I really recommend this printer if you want to print great quality pictures.
