I have only had the printer for a few weeks. The set up was easy and went well with no problems. I am pleased with the quality of both printed pages and photos. The rear feeder worked well with card stock. At this point it has met all of my expectations.

So many of the photos we have taken lately are stuck in the cloud. I’ve wanted a way to print a picture here and there, and this printer is a great way to do it. I don’t even have to turn on my computer to use it-it is connected wirelessly through our home network. So far we’ve printed a few photos and photo collages and the quality has been excellent. Setup was fairly easy once the printer was out of the box. There are printed instructions that take you step by step. As I mentioned, I didn’t use my computer to connect it to the network, but there is a CD that is included to use to install the software on your computer. I initialized the printer following the prompts on the printer screen. After the printer was set up, I found the Epson apps in the App Store on my iPad, and I downloaded the Epson iPrint and Epson Creative Print apps. The former lets me pick what I want to do-print photos, print documents, print from the cloud, scan, capture a document using my iPad camera and add Siri shortcuts. You can add the actions to Siri, so you can tell her to scan a document or print the last photo you took.(I cannot speak for that option as I don’t use Siri very often.) The Creative Print app is where it gets fun. You can print a collage of photos, create a CD/DVD label, create writing paper, create a greeting card, make a custom coloring book page using a photo or another image from the web, print pictures from FaceBook and Instagram, and print design paper. The design paper option confused me at first, but then once I explored, I realized it was actually really cool. The printer can print up to an 11×17 sheet of paper. So, you can use the design paper as custome gift wrap, or use it in a scrapbook, really the options are unlimited. One thing I did notice was if you do not have the right type of paper selected, your print quality will not be good. I printed on a piece of glossy photo paper and then a piece of blank printer paper, but didn’t switch the setting from glossy to plain. The colors were dull and muted and none of the images were even salvageable to use with an art project for my kids. When the correct setting was chosen, the print quality is absolutely amazing! My son was very impressed and was planning on all of the things he wants to print. This is a great printer, and I really like having the power to print great quality photos at home. I don’t really want to use this as a document printer, as I’m not sure how long the ink will last, and there are many cartridges to replace. (There is black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light magenta and light cyan cartridges.) The paper tray also doesn’t hold a lot of paper, so printing out long documents wouldn’t really b This printer for me will be reserved for photos and art projects and custom things that need “fancy” paper. This printer is replacing an Epson RX-680 which is still working fine and will move to the vacation home. The reason for retiring the old one was no wifi connectivity. This new printer was super easy set up. We were printing in 15 minutes. The longest part was cartridge alignment, don’t skip this your print quality will suffer. I print photos with it and was not disappointed, top quality. Print from phone works great As well. All in all very happy. And as always B&H is awsome with delivery and pricing.

I got this epson expression photo small in one printer and i love it. I love that the photo quality is really good and that this printer has a fax and scan feature and it makes my life and job easier due to the fact that it is wifi enabled and it has the capability to print 2 sided pages. This printer has the option to print from my mobile phone and the print is pretty quick it is only a couple of seconds so i can have my documents in my hands in a hurry. So this printer lets me go moblie since it isnt pretty big and it is not very bulky. I dont have an office space so for this printer to be smaller is a plus for me and i love that and the fact that it does not compromise in the quality of the picture print. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I really liked my previous Epson all in one printer and had just restocked my ink supply when the printer declared it was at its end of life. The XP-970 takes the same ink, printed 11 X 17, and otherwise matches my old XP-850 except for the ADF which I rarely uses. So far I am very happy although I preferred the older Epson scanning software which doesn’t recognize the new printer.

When this product was delivered, I was immediately impressed with the size and style of the Printer/Copier/ All-in-one device. I had no issues unpacking it and set up was simple and straightforward. The width of the device was impressive and made for easy printing of larger photos. As for the quality of copies and ease of use, After initial set up, I quickly connected the device to my computer and was off to test it. I tried the scanner first and it scanned my photos perfectly to my computer. Then i tried the photo printing option, the photos came out with beautiful, vibrant color, just like you were looking directly at the scene you took the picture of. Next I tried the copier feature and those also came out quickly and perfect with no issues. In summary, All of the functions and features of this product work as they should and work very efficiently. The photos come out beautiful colorful and vibrant. The copier makes clear quick and effortless copies The scanner feature sends documents and photos straight to me computer with ease. I bought the XP-970 to replace my XP-850 model which was still printing well but lacked full wifi remote printing capabilities. Both use the same ink cartridges which I wish were cheaper as buying six cartridges is very expensive. Overall print quality is excellent and the set up of the new printer went quickly without any problems

This printer is amazing. It was simple to set up and get running. And the prints are gorgeous. I use the back feeder for larger and heavier photo paper and my images look professionally printed. I am so happy with this printer. The ink is not cheap however it still is less then sending prints out to be made- especially at the volume I print! I highly recommend this printer!

I wanted a printer that would print on disks, and I am totally satisfied with this one. I would have preferred an ink tank printer because of the very low cost of ink, but this one gets the job done. It’s not fast, but I’m in no hurry. Setup was easy, and it works fine – all for a reasonable price.

Replaced my Workforce 845 and Photo Stylus 280 with the XP-970. Love this printer. It is quieter, faster and I get better results. The ink that it comes with is long lasting. Customer support is great also.

Been using Epson printers for over 20 years now and they were great, and this printer is no exception. The XP-970’s build quality is noticeable better than my HD-15000 photo printer, and the photos are of equal quality. But the few things I don’t like about the 970 is you can only load one piece of photo paper at a time in the rear slot of the printer. Also the 4 inch touchscreen is WAY to sensitive. Other than that still a great solid printer.

This is the first Epson printer I have ever had. It was a lot easier to set up than the previous printers I’ve had. Once out of the box, I plugged it in and loaded the 6 ink cartridges. It took about 7 minutes to initialize and then I needed to load paper for the alignment and adjustment of the print. There are 2 paper trays, one is for smaller photo paper and the other is for up to 11×17 size paper. You load it with the printable side face down. It took some trial and error for me to figure out loading the paper but once I got it, it was easy. There is a place to also load paper in the back of the printer but I have not utilized this yet. You need at least 4 sheets of paper for the alignment and adjustment. For example, it prints out 9 lines of squares and you pick the ones with the least amount of lines from each line. After completing the set up it was a breeze to use. I was able to use the scan and print and print from my phone easily. Setting up the Wifi was simple and the touch screen it great because you don’t have to use the pads of your finger like a mobile phone. I love this because I have fat fingers and like being able to use my fingernails to navigate. Pros: easy to set up in about 12-15 minutes. Print quality is great. Set up to Alexa to print. Cons: a little loud but bearable. There is a quiet mode but prints slower. The print tray doesn’t hold a lot of paper for the size of the printer. I have included 3 pictures: Original is on top, a scanned of original is on the left and the one on the right is a picture taken of the original with my phone and printed out).
