Print everything from everyday documents to lab-quality photos and graphics with the EcoTank Photo ET-8500 Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer from Epson. Featuring an economical cartridge-free printing system, this printer offers low-cost replacement ink bottles without sacrificing print quality. Each replacement ink bottle set is equivalent to approximately 100 individual ink cartridges. The ET-8500 lets you print everything from 4 x 6″ to 8.5 x 11″ borderless photos to customized CDs and DVDs. A six-color Claria ET Premium Ink system delivers vibrant colors and sharp text for all your creative projects, and you can even print on cardstock and other media up to 1.3mm thick.
A 4.3″ color touchscreen offers fast and easy performance and voice-activated printing is supported as well. Mobile-ready, you can print, scan, and more with the Epson Smart Panel app, which lets you monitor and operate your printer directly from your iOS or Android mobile device. Additionally, a SD card slot and USB port are provided for direct printing. For scanning, an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner delivers high-resolution scans up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, and the unit lets you make up to 99 copies at a time.

I’ve owned an Epson XP-830 for years, and it’s been a dependable color printer. But the Epson ET-8500 is superior to my old printer in many ways. The supertank ink system in the ET-8500 is far more efficient and cost-effective than the cartridge system in my old printer, and it will save me loads of money and time in the long run. The printer has, so far, been a reliable one. As a music educator, I’ve used it for a few large and color projects. I’m enamored with the eco tank ink solution. I’m very grateful for the purchase. I’ve yet to find a flaw, though maybe a top -loading feed would have made this a perfect purchase for me.

I’m an artist/illustrator and photographer and I wanted to bring printing in-house rather than farming out to a vendor. I wanted a printer that had high-capacity ink tanks and could make high-quality prints on heavyweight papers (250-300gsm). The Epson Et-85xx printers tick both boxes! I purchased the ET-8500 model as I have no need for printing larger than 8.5×11 or A4 borderless. Set up on MacOS 11 was fast and easy. My first test print on XPress-It blending card (uncoated 250gsm art paper) stunned me: a quick print on the plain paper setting yield a vibrant print that was much closer to my original alcohol ink rendering than what I had been receiving from a vendor! I’ve tested on a variety of coated papers ranging in weight from 140 to 250 gsm and even printed on watercolor paper with amazing results. I have not yet printed photographs but I am confident that the quality will be fantastic.
