Get printing, scanning, copying, and faxing with the wireless EcoTank Pro ET-5880 All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer with PCL Support from Epson. A great addition to any home or small office, the EcoTank Pro system uses large ink reservoirs instead of cartridges, allowing it to hold more ink and make refills more affordable. The mobile-ready printer comes with enough ink for 15,000 black prints and 12,000 color prints. Printing quality is excellent as well, with a four-color ink set and a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi contributing to its ability to create sharp and vivid documents. Users demanding speed will also be pleased with the unit’s simplex print speed of 25ppm for both black and color documents, and duplex print speeds are almost as fast at an impressive 21 ppm for both black and color documents.
Two 250-sheet input trays work with documents up to 8.5 x 14″, and a long-document mode on the rear feed enables the production of media up to 8.5 x 47.2″. For scanning and copying, the unit has an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed scanner that allows scans up to 8.5 x 14″ with the ADF, and optical scan resolution is an impressive 1200 dpi. Settings can be checked and quickly changed via the 4.3″ color touchscreen, and for maximum versatility during setup, the ET-5880 is equipped with USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, mobile printing is made possible via Apple AirPrint, Mopria, Epson Connect Email Print, and the Epson iPrint Mobile App. And for those requiring further flexibility with their workflows, the ET-5880 also includes PCL and PostScript support for both general office and professional graphics applications.

Easy to install. Fast and versatile. Only negative is the price.

This is a great printer and scanner and copier except for its network card. This printer loses the signal to the network or shows the signal to be poor even with the router right next to it. When I hardwire it to the router, I will sometimes have to reinstall it. It can be frustrating when in a hurry and need to print a document. I like this printer but the network card is not acceptable.

I bought this printer after reading numerous good reviews. I found the eco claims appealing. However, I find the print quality to be barely good enough. It’s not the crisp black text I am used to seeing on my documents, and I produce a LOT of documents. At first, I thought I was already out of black ink or perhaps my eyesight was fading. Even after troubleshooting, the print still looks slightly faded when compared to my older documents. Also, I’m now thinking that eco meant economical rather than ecological. Although the ink bottles have more ink than a cartridge, they are vacuum packed in plastic and the large plastic bottles are not recyclable without being cleaned first (at least in my area) and cleaning them would be a mess! At least those cartridges can be recycled again and again. And while I don’t love the software interface with my desktop computer, at least the printer is fast, even with duplex printing. Scanning is decently fast as well. All things considered, I still would not recommend it to a friend.

This printer is now set up and is the production appliance for our two-person office. Printing and scanning results are excellent. Filling the ink tanks was easy and spotless. The operating software seems unnecessarily complex and there is often a lag in response to a print command sent wirelessly. We are looking forward to a long period of use.

I like the quality, reliability and ease of use of the 5880 printer. However the Epson offer of free ink for two years is a black hole, I sent in my claim, used cartridges, and receipt for new ink as required and did not hear anything for months, Eventually received acknowledgment of claim received and am waiting many months for my refund.

I hate to write a bad review but here is my honest review. First time I purchased this, it was defect. After filling inks and turned on the printer, set up screen gave an error. After 5th try, I contact Epson the they said it was hardware defect. It’s the first time that I received defective big network printer in new… There was nothing wrong with B&H but I sent it back to them due to Epson support’s suggestion. Thank you, B&H. Then I purchased this again and HP CLJ M479FDW for the office. This was the first time to use ECO Tank Epson model so I was curious how its print quality. Well, Print out quality is average or bellow expected. I understand it’s only 4 ink system inkjet but HP Color Laserjet output is far better than this. It’s not dark enough either. If you’re looking for a quality in printout, laserjet is NOT a good option, IMO. If cost performance is the priority, this should be okay. The worst part is the detailed system set up via web site, such as network settings and other detailed settings. There was no easy way to find the printer’s set up page. Must use Epson app or… So I searched for the printer IP manually on the network, yet, it didn’t show the entire set up page. I had to set up printer admin name and admin password. Still, user interface seemed like early 2000’s… There were extra steps involved just to change the network printer name, compare to HP CLJ purchased at the same time took about a minute to do the same job. Another thing I noticed on Epson ECO tank series is ink compatibility. As I was reading other reviews and manuals, Epson states that some eco tank printers are ink specific. It seems the same black ink but its not. I was surprised but I could see that printer manufacture still wanted to control over inks.
