It’s a cutter blade. It cuts paper. It’s definitely too expensive for what it is. About $10 seems more appropriate, but it’s ridiculous price is set by Epson. I dulled my old one up cutting through some fabric-based paper. Otherwise, these blades last a long long time.

This blade is well worth the money, and will last for years. This one replaces one I have had for 3 or 4 years. I consider myself a moderate to heavy user. The blade was a snap to install, and I was right back to printing in less then 5 minutes.

I’m sure it will work fine when it comes time to change it out. The edge of cuts is currently rough, so I purchased this for when I need it.I know three stars is unfair for a product I have not used, but this is priced way too high in my opinion. The thing is only 2 in total size (From the photo and price I thought it would really be something special). With B&H’s selling price at $* I’m happy to buy it for that, considering Epson’s site has it at $95. My point is that Epson should make enough profit from the ink cartrige sales. The tank is priced resonibly. Why not the cutter?

Although the cutter of my Epson 7800 printer has not had much use in the past and the blade on the printer is still working fine, it is good to have a backup blade to ensure I can replace it if the existing blades quality of cut declines.

This appears to be an OEM replacement blade. Easy to install and works great.

My Epson 9800 printer is about four years old and I had never replaced the cutting blade. Thick papers like Epson Somerset Velvet were getting tough to cut. Changing the cutting blade was super simple taking only a couple of minutes. Now the printer is cutting like new.
