The resin-coated base is also easily handled with a basis weight of 252 gsm, or 68 lb, and a thickness of 10.4 mil. Also, the smudge- and water-resistant media features a rated opacity of 97% and a brightness of 92%.

As a professional photographer who submits to glossy magazines, this paper provides an optimal proof as well as photo-lab quality print. Full disclosure – I’m not a fan of the popular ‘textured’ (e.g. Luster) paper as they seem to detract from the print IMHO. So until Canon decides to offer their pro-platinum in 17×22, this is my go-to choice.

I am an amatuer photographer and own an Epson Stylus PHOTO 1400 printer. I started out using the cheapest photo paper I could find to keep the cost of printing (and the price of my final product) down. I did accomplish that goal but the desired final product (a quality photo that popped) was eluding me. I read a number of articles about making quality prints and most recommended using a photographic paper that was designed for the printer being used. I changed to exclusively using Epson Paper and have been extremely happy with the results. I found out that every paper deals with inks from a printer differently. To avoid this problem, I get printing profiles from Epson for each type paper I use i.e., matte, glossy, semi-glossy, etc. which I use religiously to obtain wonderful results. I have never been disappointed with the result obtained from Epson papers.

I used this Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper to print my Digital Photography class’s final project: a series of images with many colors and tones, ranging from vibrant to subtle. Other people in the class were printing their projects with other sorts of paper and having a lot of difficulty – their photos coming out too saturated or dark. I sat down to print and shot out 15 beautiful, perfect prints. There’s no need for the Ultra Premium paper; this stuff is fantastic.

I don’t use a lot of 5 x 7s, but sometimes a 4 x 6 is not quite large enough. For large groups a 5 x 7 is usually necessary. Quality is great.

A friend suggested this paper and it works very well. This paper seems pretty durable for family prints. It sheet feeds well with the Epson 3880 printer. 250 sheets for $ works out to $ per sheet which is pretty economical. For best results I’ve sent the brightness to +10 in the Epson printer set-up.
