With a popular E-type luster surface, Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster will provide digital printmakers with images that mimic the look of traditional silver halide prints. This polyethylene-coated RC base will also deliver outstanding color saturation for vivid prints and it features a basis weight of 240 gsm as well as a thickness of 10 mil. The paper will dry instantly for immediate handling and it offers an opacity of 97% and a brightness of 97%. Additionally, it features a gloss level of 16% at 60°.

Switched to this paper from Kodak Ultra Premium. Both are very high quality, however the Epson paper dries immediately and thus you can handle or cut or place in a frame under glass immediately. The Kodak paper is very slow to dry and even after a few hours will still smudge, show finger prints, or wet spots under glass.

My son uses this paper for printing pro-quality photos for his college-level photo class. It’s got a great finish for mounting and showing; still looks good with plastic portfolio sheet over it. Holds color photo ink well. The paper curls a tiny but but that’s pretty normal. No downsides.

I use more than 10 different high end Epson papers for printing both B&W and color. I often try some of the more Epson papers that are more expensive by far than UPPPL and often I fall back to printing for my exhibits on UPPPL. I generally print first on the 8 1/2 by 11 UPPPL to see how the image looks and then decide to try one of the other papers I use. Frequently I find UPPPL provides the best image.
