I purchased sample packages of Epson Signature Worthy and Legacy papers to evaluate and compare the differences between the papers. After printing identical color and monochrome images and comparing the results on all of the papers, I discovered (to my surprise) that they all looked the same. The main primary difference, was that some of the papers had a semi-gloss finish and the others were matte. Among the matte finishes, the Velvet Fine Art had a good weight, texture, and was the least expensive of the matte papers. It is composed of cotton fiber and does contain optical brightening agents (OBA’s). I would strongly suggest that printers do a comparison among the wide range of papers on the market and then determine which matte paper would suit their needs. Again, (for me) the Epson Velvet Fine Art paper met all of my criteria.

Very pleased with my first matte prints using this paper. It’s a little tricky to load in my R3000 printer, as the gap for the paper is a bit easy to miss, but patience is rewarded with the result.

Epson papers are always reliable, high-quality media for my photographs of seascapes and other landscape shots. Great format for commercial prints for customers who will use the product in their homes.

We use this for customer reproduction as well as in house for creating high quality postcards, bookmarks, and invitations. The weight, brightness and size are great for our needs and it fits great in our EPSON R2880 and works great in the EPSON 9900 as well. This is a staple that we always keep on hand.

I used my first sheets to print a black and white of my grandaughter and her mother in a portrait. It was so nice, I wished it was a larger print. I do not have the recommended printer for the paper specs so I used Premium Presentation Matte for my print options and it came out beautifully. I will use this for my very special stuff.

has a great color gamut and deep black. a beautiful surface for fine art prints. only problem is the surface is incredibly delicate, must be stored or matted with great care.

I’ve long since accepted the reality that I’m able to get better quality B&W images using digital technology and printing on an Epson Stylus R2400 printer than I ever was able to make in a traditional darkroom. But my first set of prints using Epson’s Velvet Fine Art Paper exceeded expectations. The tonal distinctions are crisp, giving the full range between maximum black and white with a hint of detail. This was true for both images that have been digital from start to finish, as well as images from 4&5 negatives that were scanned to put them into a digital format. I will definitely use this product again to print any image, B&W or color, that I intend to exhibit or sell.

Takes a great image and turns it into art.

I use this to print my digital photographs on. It produces a high quality print with no bleeding, no loss of definition, and it is a heavy enough paper that gives great support to the photo.

I use Velvet Fine Art paper on images where the quality of the paper will provide that wow factor when the image is viewed. A good example would be a colored pencil drawing on a course black medium that was digitized and printed on the velvet fine art paper on an Epson 3880 printer. The end result had viewers asking if they were to touch the print if it would smudge! When the artist displayed the print with a portrait light the results were breathtaking.

I love this paper and output from my Epson 3800. It’s expensive, so I want it to arrive in perfect condition with no bent corners or other damage. Thanks to B&H for packaging the product VERY carefully to minimize the potential for damage during shipment.

I’ve done a bunch of sampling and testing photo papers for printing exhibition quality image and this is one of the best papers for color rendition with a non-gloss finish I’ve ever used. I just wish they made this stuff in rolls because I’d use it like crazy. Truly lovely paper.

I use this paper to print fine art photographs. It has a wonderful texture, subtle but tactile. Sent a few images to a fellow photographer who was just blown away by the prints. Gives the photo an authentic fine art look and feel. Just wish it was available in larger rolls or sheets!

This paper has been the best I’ve ever used. I make prints from my original art and print on a home printer. With this paper, the colors resulting from my ink-jet printer are amazing. NOTE: with this paper it’s especially important to use the ‘correct’ side – the difference in the printed color is notable. I buy the larger format because it’s the most versatile; I can cut the sheets down into whatever size I need.

I love Epson Fine Art Velvet. I’ve been using it for my art prints for years. Unfortunately, it arrived bent, despite have reinforced corners as part of the packaging. I sent one package back as a return, and re-ordered. The new package arrived bent also. I have orders to fill though, so I’m weighing the corner down overnight in hopes the bend will relax. Please rethink the packaging on this product!

This is such a great paper for matte prints, both color and monochrome. The color depth is spectacular. For a special portrait paper, it can’t be beat. Just make sure your printer can handle it.
