I had never printed on this paper and I must say that I will continue to use it. The colors looked beautiful!!!-I do have an Epson 3000 printer, and maybe the combination of the ink and paper gives your photo a museum like look.

I recently read a review of Velvet Fine Art by well known photographer Art Wolf. Where, he used a lot of adjectives to describe this paper. I too, would like to fill the page with a lot of adjectives but will instead just say that this is a wonderful paper for making B&W and Color fine art prints. The surface is a beautiful bright creamy white with a slightly textured surface. I recently exhibited 15-13×19 color Fine Art Prints at a Baltimore gallery and convinced my co-exhibitor to use Velvet Fine Art as well. We have had very favorable comments about the prints from local and out of town visitors. They were using some of those adjectives that Art Wolf used to describe prints made with this paper. As Nike says, Just Do It. Make some prints for yourself and see how many adjectives will be used to describe your prints.

I bought a pack of this paper because it has a great reputation, and man, I wasn’t disappointed! My style has always been high gloss and bright colors, but with this paper I’ve discovered a more subtle style I didn’t know I had in me. It produces the most vivid colors and highest contrast of any matte paper I’ve tried. Great for black and white images. Durable – No issues with loose fibers causing white spots in the finished image – something I’ve experienced with cotton rag papers. Still it’s matte, so it’s somewhat susceptible to surface scuffs. More durable than Hahnemuhle Photo Rag, but not as scuff-resistant as Epson Premium Luster.

The brightened neutral-white and mildly-textured matte surface makes this paper well-suited to portraits, atmospheric landscapes and images displayed in difficult lighting. But be patient, i.e., give your test/proof prints at least and hour or more to dry/cure before you judge color and densities. Prints made by the book (color managed, correct profiles, etc.) may look a touch muddy and colors may appear distorted when the print is fresh, but the prints will improve as they dry.

I’ve made numerous pieces of art with this paper printing them on the Epson R1800. Excellent results. Make sure you use the proper color management work flow for accurate results.

Prints of my artwork. The only thing that I don’t like is that is very difficult to tell the whiter side to print on. I get frustrated when I waste a piece because of it.

I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in prints on this VFAP in comparison to Premium Luster. Scales on a butterfly’s wings had more sparkle. It is an excellent choice for a matte print paper.

I purchased this particular size as a customer requested it for some humming bird prints. I was afraid we would loose some detail with the fine art paper but this was not the case. Happy she changed my mind

Perfect color and density. I love the finish. It handles well and is perfectly consistent.

B&H treats every shipment of Epson paper like they are shipping a fragile vase. I never receive bent or punctured boxes of material because they are so fastidious about their packing. The paper itself is my #1 choice for printing on the Epson 3800/3880 series printers.

This is a high quality paper great for both B&W and color prints.

I use this for reproduction of my water color art. Love the look and texture, very close to the origional art. Printing on Epson 3880 Pro. …

If you have a local printer ask them to use this paper when printing your artwork. I didn’t use it for photography, so I don’t know how well that works. But scanned images of your artwork will print out well on this paper. A tip: don’t be discouraged if the first few prints don’t come out well. I had to use a variety of printers and settings before I found the perfect one for reproductions. Just keep trying and then stick to one method when you find it!

I use a Epson R2400 to print on Velvet Fine Art paper for resale. I find this paper’s unique characteristic of high bright white base to give me color clarity my clients like. I find it’s high D-Max (contrast and rich blacks) that makes the image pop, while at the same time not losing detail on my moody, subtlely lit images. It’s weight and instatnt drying ability makes post printing handling much easier.

This paper has a textured finish and produces a beautiful fine art image for most photographs. In some cases a photo will only print will on glossy but those are the exceptions. Have used this paper for many years, no complaints.
