I’ve done a bunch of sampling and testing photo papers for printing exhibition quality image and this is one of the best papers for color rendition with a non-gloss finish I’ve ever used. I just wish they made this stuff in rolls because I’d use it like crazy. Truly lovely paper.

I’ve used this paper for my portfolio for years. Beautiful texture, rich blacks. Although the color gamut could be a little wider.

I’m an illustrator and after getting fed up with bad local print shops do all my print work at home. Of all the papers I have tried this is the best, bar none. It takes color beautifully, and makes my artwork look as vibrant as the original/ what’s on my computer screen. The only potential downside for some is the texture; it has a light almost watercolor paper kind of texture. Its extremely subtle and I really like it, but some people might not.

This is a beautiful paper for both color and monochrome photo prints. Just be sure your Epson printer has matte black capability, and can handle this weight and thickness paper. The images are rich.

I am using this Epson paper in various sizes. The 8.5×11 is used for either proofing before going to larger sizes or stand alone. The texture and tonality are beautiful and work well under any framing. My B&W favorite paper, with Ultra Smooth Fine Art from Epson too.

I used this to print a giclee of my artwork. It gave it a very nice feel, with a bit of texture. It provided good contrast and color. I will use it again.

I use the Velvet Fine Art for most of my photo work. When properly profiled, the prints are rich and vibrant. For the most part, the first print is the final, unless, of course, I am making an edition. I am rarely disappointed with the results and highly recommend it.

I got this paper to print illustrations and graphics created with Adobe Illustrator. The printer I used is a Canon Pro9500. Everything printed sharp with deep blacks and rich saturated colors. The thickness of the paper and its fine texture give the resulting prints a feeling of quality that you can’t get with glossy or semigloss. I definitely would buy it again. The only slightly negative thing is the price…this paper is not cheap, but it’s worth it.

I’ve long since accepted the reality that I’m able to get better quality B&W images using digital technology and printing on an Epson Stylus R2400 printer than I ever was able to make in a traditional darkroom. But my first set of prints using Epson’s Velvet Fine Art Paper exceeded expectations. The tonal distinctions are crisp, giving the full range between maximum black and white with a hint of detail. This was true for both images that have been digital from start to finish, as well as images from 4&5 negatives that were scanned to put them into a digital format. I will definitely use this product again to print any image, B&W or color, that I intend to exhibit or sell.

Very nice quality paper. i use it with my epson inkjet printer (a decent quality printer, not one of their super cheap models) to print out high quality color artwork for birthday cards and framable prints. the paper is heavyweight and slightly textured. the texture does mute colors slightly (as compared to smooth or glossy stock) but it still shows color well.

I love the high quality of the paper.

If you use this product correctly, with high end ink, printer, formating, and color corrected monetor this paper will shine every time. Literally! This is not a glossy paper, but it doesn’t need to be. If there is any metal or reflective surfice in your image somehow the paper helps it to actually appear glossy and metalic like. The only thing that is difficult with this paper is that any oil from your fingers will stay on the paper. Make sure you wear archival gloves when touching any part of the paper or your print will br ruined.

VFA is an incredible paper…the colors come out really nice and saturated. B&Ws are especially awesome…it still retains a lot of detail in the shadows where most other papers will go ‘muddy’. The paper has a really nice texture that doesn’t get in the way of most images…but if you want a smooth paper choose something else. Handle it with care as the surface is somewhat delicate.

I use this paper for fine art prints. It has a nice texture and a good weight at 260 gsm. I formerly used Hahnemuhle William Turner 190 gsm paper, which I like very much. The Velvet paper is heavier, with similar qualities to the William Turner. I buy the 17 x 22 sheets and cut them to 11 x 17 for most of my prints. The result is an equally fine quality paper at a lower cost than the Hahnemuhle William Turner. I am very pleased. I think Epson has some of the finest papers available today.
