I use both the Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper and Watercolor Paper. Although the Velvet Fine Art Paper is heavier (and I can order it in the smaller size), I prefer the Watercolor Paper because it is more economical and the image quality is just as good.

I have tried different papers for my photos of flowers. This by far beats out any I ran tests on as far as detail and color are concerned. I highly recommend it.

Epson papers are always reliable, high-quality media for my photographs of seascapes and other landscape shots. Great format for commercial prints for customers who will use the product in their homes.

Very pleased with my first matte prints using this paper. It’s a little tricky to load in my R3000 printer, as the gap for the paper is a bit easy to miss, but patience is rewarded with the result.

Thank you B&H, as usual the paper was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Thanks for asking.

This feels like a heavy piece of quality paper. It’s matte and hard to tell which side to print on. I recommend checking the soft-proof very carefully. For me the saturation of color on this paper makes the photo look pastel, which may be the point. If anyone knows how to get rich vivid prints with this paper please let me know.

I absolutely love Epson’s Velvet Fine Art Paper for the work I do. Because the paper absorbs ink, images made on Velvet have a perceptible depth to them, much like my platinum prints from film. Also, this paper yields beautiful, velvety (appropriately enough) blacks and vivid colors. I use it for landscape photography, as well as portraiture and still lifes, and it makes a beautiful base for black and white prints, giving them a completely different feel from those make on glossy paper. The paper has a subtle texture that’s not at all obtrusive and actually accentuates most prints. The only downside to this paper is that there’s not an obvious face or back side, but it must be printed on the face side. I keep track by only removing one sheet at a time from the inner package and keeping it with the seal side up, which means the face side is always up, too.

I use this on my Epson 3800 and it makes for beautiful prints, great colors, detail and high D-max.

Switched from Hahnemuhle Photo Rag to save money. Much lower weight, but I can’t tell the difference in image quality.

I love this paper so still gave it 4 stars but most of the time it comes with a bent corner on every sheet. If I wasn’t on a deadline this time I’d send it back for a replacement. The box it’s packaged in always seems to have a crunched corner which damages the sheets. I don’t know if it comes directly from Epson that way or if it happens in shipping from B and H but it’s frustrating to say the least. Impossible to count on getting an undamaged pack lately so full bleed prints are out of the question.

First of all, I’m a matte paper user. I have tried other papers but I keep coming back for the consistency and beauty I get with Velvet Fine Art. I prefer this in sheets to Somerset Velvet on a roll, though of course there is a premium to pay and size limitations that exist. I really love the texture of this paper as well for looking at prints in the hand. Most end up under glass of course.

I use it for fine art prints, which it is EXCELLENT for… WONDERFUL saturation with my 3880… just be VERY careful handling it and the surface is very susceptible to scratching. (not that you can compare the two…) … but it blows the exhibition fiber out of the water!

Epson Velvet Fine Art is my go-to paper for fine-art printing.

I love the feel of this paper. It is similar to my rough watercolor paper and gives the same feeling. The colors are amazing on the paper too.

I love the depth of color, particularly black, and the weight of the paper. The feel of the paper always gets a comment. I’m just learning how to show-case my shots. I think printing on this paper is a step in the right direction.
