I’ve always enjoyed the thickness of this paper. Great for fine art prints. Excellent service from BH too! They are the best.

I have printed many important or sales prints on this paper for years and find it produces detailed and saturated images better than any matte paper I have used and has the look of real artwork. My current distress is that it no longer comes in the 13 x 19 size but only in the 17x 22. Too much waste.

I definitely love this paper. It’s great for fine art prints. The texture is my favorite part about it.

This paper was like printable coldpress watercolor paper in terms of absorbency, texture and weight. It was almost too textured for what I wanted. I’m printing with an Epson Photo 1400 and then painting back into my surfaces. The printed color is true and very rich, it also takes my paint well. Only 4 stars because I prefer a smoother surface.

Epson Velvet paper adds depth to your photography as well as a professional looking finish

This paper does have texture that I find pleasing to the touch and can be felt by gloves, in producing a mild friction. I cannot comment on pastel colors, as yet.

This is the paper I use for final prints. I has a beautiful rich rendition of colors and black. When people see and feel the paper on which their prints are produced, they think it is wonderful.

I was kind of leary purchasing the Velvet ink jet paper, but to my surprise, the prints came out beautiful. Very rich in color. Glad I made the purchase.

I have used the Velvet Fine Art paper for several years for wildflife, portrait and landscape photography. IMO, it is Epson’s best paper — rich blacks, even reflectivity for all colors and gives good resolution prints.

I have compared several of the matte finish papers from Epson. When test images were printed (Epson P900) with identical settings; all of the papers appeared the same. The composition of most of the matte papers tested were very similar with differences relating to composition (alpha cellulose or cotton), the presence of optical brightening agents (OBA’s), and thickness (ranging from 13 to 23 mils). The Velvet Fine Art compared very favorably and was the lowest in cost compared to the other products.

I use Velvet Fine Art with Epson UltraChrome inks a lot for portraits and my art photography, some of which includes digital montages with painting. I get deep rich tones and the thick paper stays flat when matted and mounted.
