I used my first sheets to print a black and white of my grandaughter and her mother in a portrait. It was so nice, I wished it was a larger print. I do not have the recommended printer for the paper specs so I used Premium Presentation Matte for my print options and it came out beautifully. I will use this for my very special stuff.

I’ve tried various matte textured archival inkjet papers and this is my favorite. It’s the same as Somerset Velvet printmaking paper, except that it’s prepared to accept Epson Ultrachrome inks. It doesn’t chip or show fingerprints easily, which are two important features in its favor compared to other matte textured papers, and is reasonably priced compared to those others. However, color management is a little more challenging than with glossy paper.

I love this paper and output from my Epson 3800. It’s expensive, so I want it to arrive in perfect condition with no bent corners or other damage. Thanks to B&H for packaging the product VERY carefully to minimize the potential for damage during shipment.

I used this paper with the Epson 2200 to produce beautiful charcoal prints. The surface of the paper was more pleasing than anticipated. …

This paper has the highest Dmax I have so far used with the Epson P800 printer. It is not terribly convenient to have to load each sheet from the front loading tray in order to obtain the maximum benefit. Having a custom icc profile made will help that problem using the top loader.

I do love this paper, in an good epson printer the blacks on this are quite appealing. They do not have the depth of photo surfaced papers but that in not the point, sometime you need a textured surface and a aesthetic that bends away from the standard photographic solution. ~TEU

I use Velvet Fine Art paper on images where the quality of the paper will provide that wow factor when the image is viewed. A good example would be a colored pencil drawing on a course black medium that was digitized and printed on the velvet fine art paper on an Epson 3880 printer. The end result had viewers asking if they were to touch the print if it would smudge! When the artist displayed the print with a portrait light the results were breathtaking.

This product is used to print photographs in color and black & white. I print black & white photos on this paper and hand-color the photos in pastel. The paper is durable and receives the inks and pastels very well. I have no negative comments about this paper.

I use this paper to print black and white photos on an Epson Stylus Pro 2880. I order Velvet in the 17×22 size and use a rotary trimmer to cut it into 8.5×11 sheets. This gives me 100 sheets at 8.5×11 for $ rather than buying it at that size for a significant amount more. It is a great paper–for smaller prints. Despite having a noticable texture, it prints with exceptional clarity. For large prints I use Epson’s Ultrasmooth, as a 13×19 sheet of it will more easily go through the rear manual feed of the 2880 whereas the Velvet seems to have a problem going through. B&H is where I get pretty much everything now–camera bodies, lenses, printers, new iMac (their price was the best available, even with an academic discount elsewhere), paper, ink, cables, etc.
