It is also quite heavy with a basis weight of 297 gsm and a thickness of 11.8 mil. Furthering overall quality, it has a rated opacity of 96% and a brightness of 96%. Additionally, it is instant drying and both smudge and water resistant.

Prints look great, but I need to stamp the back of prints for my use, after 3 days the ink has still not dried and smears. The paper comes with a disclaimer stating that unless prints are in an album or in a frame under glass they may discolor also the paper comes with a special plastic bag to store the paper in until use to prevent deterioration. All these disclaimers suggest to me that the product doesn’t have archival quality. I will use it up for short term photos, then use paper by another manufacture that does accept rubber stamp and the ink dries in 3 minutes and has archival quality. note: The Epson Premium paper does not have a special storage bag to prevent the paper from deteriorating and it makes great prints, but for my use rubber stamp ink still doesn’t dry in an acceptable time.

First the paper worked fine not much more to say than that however I do see some minor negatives. I personally don’t care for Epson placing their name all over the back of the paper – to me it’s very unprofessional and gaudy. Second for the price of the paper why can’t we get the nice boxes photo paper use to come in? You basically destroy the skimpy packaging opening it leaving nothing behind to store your prints in. Finally because of it’s special dimension (a lot of projects require this particular size) it’s very common for these prints to be handled and not placed in a wall frame, stating all that it would be cool if Epson added just a tiny bit more weight to the paper making it more durable for handling. Again the paper worked fine

I used it for fall foliage done with soft focus. I used film. The combination of the softness and film grain is enhanced by the glossy finish of the paper. I also use it for insect photography when I want to show the maximum amoung of detail and want the best blacks I can get. I go with the Epson brand paper to compliment the photo inks I use. (Archival properties are important to me.)

Just did an event where I printed approximately 300 5×7’s and the consistency of the paper was amazing. Not a single jam. Dried before I could pull them off the printer. Very happy. Wish they came in packs bigger than 20 sheets but then again, the unopened packs will remain fresh til my next gig.
