Lovely paper both color and black and white prints, long smooth scale, good shadow and highlight detail. Expensive. One flaw – on the Epson R2400 it must be fed one sheet at a time by the roll paper input, and it often takes a few times to get it loaded evenly. Really slows down the workflow. However, images are worth the extra effort.

So far I have printed only black and white images on this paper and it has been brilliant. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I’m not going to get into the optical brighteners versus no optical brighteners debate. That is a subjective minefield. On my long and expensive quest to find a fine art matte paper so my photos don’t reflect my face back at me and has, almost, the DMax, clarity, sharpness and presence(my description) of one of the new Barytas, this may not be the Holy Grail, but it certainly puts you in the chapel and close to the altar. Of course printing on an Epson 7900 with the new HDR inks helps, but I’m sure it will do just fine on my trusty R2400 too. This is a very nice paper. I ordered a gob.

When my fine art paper comes from B&H, I always know it will 1) be super well packed for care, and 2) be at one of the best prices out there. Excellent! A terrific paper for B&W printing (use an Epson 3880).

I print on an Epson 3880. My two favorite papers for portfolios and prints that will be hung are Epson Hot Press Bright and Exhibition Fiber. I use the latter for about of my prints, especially those with a wide range of colors for which a certain amount of snap is needed. But both EFP and HPB excel at reproducing a wide color range and wide luminosity range. But some prints just look better with a flatter, matte surface. For these HPB is my go to paper. I use it for both B&W and color prints. For images with a narrower color and luminosity range, with particularly muted colors, I use Cold Press Natural. Usually, these images also benefit from a textured paper, somewhat less white paper, like CPN. I can’t think of any negatives.

Semi-smooth. Print photos on, then draw over. Paper takes ink and graphite well. Good, natural, paper, especially for mixed media.

Printing on Epson 3800 BW images that have nice pop for a matte finish. Fine Art look to finished portraits. I prefer the bright to the natural. Sheets are well packed and consistent. Easy loading Epson to Epson.

I have used this paper with the Epson R3000 for some graphic style art with large areas of black as well as fine lines. I was pleased with the Dmax of the black areas as well as its ability to keep fine lines from spreading. The white background is nice and cool, not bluish, not gray, not yellow. The paper is a nice weight — I did not experience much if any curl from printing. I handled the paper by the edges and did not have any drop out areas. Color reproduction was spot-on (using a profile and calibrated monitor). 2 minor notes about the profile — I had to go to the Pro section of the Epson website to download the profile for this printer-paper combination; and in Photoshop, the profile is a little hard to find in the list, as they use the abbreviation HPB instead of the words Hot Press Bright in the title of the profile. Also, for the R3000, the paper requires you to use the fine-art feed path. I had some issues getting the print-driver settings for the R3000 coordinated with the use of this tray when printing from Photoshop, but that comment is more related to the R3000 itself.

This is the best fine art matte paper anyone has yet produced. It works great with even older printers with the Ultrachrome Ink. Great results from my six year old Epson 4000.

Great paper with a lovely subtle texture and great tonal range.

This is a very affordable, thick, bright matte paper that has very accurate color rendition. I’m printing on an Epson P800 and aside from some disparity with cyan colors, what I see on my monitor (Asus LCD with no color calibration) and what is printed are identical. I’m very happy with this paper – I have it in 17×22, 8.5×11, and 17×50′ roll.

I am a fine art photographer and I love this paper for what I do, which is mostly still life and portrait work. It is very rich in color and the texture is velvety smooth. However, this paper requires very careful handling. During the first 24 hours, before it is completely dry, any dust that lands on it can permanently adhere. I try to prevent this by placing the curing print back inside the box, making sure the lid is not in contact with the surface. Once prints are dry, it is still very easy to scratch them just by stacking them. Tissue needs to be placed between prints to lessen the chance of this happening. This is mostly noticeable in dark areas of images. This wouldn’t be a good choice of paper for printing large quantities. It would be too frustrating due to the careful handling needed. But in terms of the end product, this is really gorgeous paper.

I purchased Epson’s Signature Worthy sample package and did test prints on the same image on each type of paper. For color photographs, the Hot Press Bright was the clear choice. Subtle, smooth transitions between colors produce a printed image that matches what you saw on the computer screen.

The feel of the paper is very professional and the color is amazing. I am printing with a epson 2400. Make sure your printer is compatible with this paper for the best color.

I was disappointed in that I ordered 2 rolls of Epson paper, not realizing buying another roll would have qualified me for a rebate. I lost out and so did B&H. I would have definitely gotten a third roll, but alas the rebate announcement didn’t jump out at me in the product description. I’m still waiting for the roll of Legacy Fiber that has been out of stock. Still I’m a fan of B&H and depend on them for supplies.

Wonderful for color photographs where surface shouldn’t distract from the image. Images become one with the paper, don’t sit on top like with so many inkjet papers.

It does a better job of printing detail or subtle color changes

I love this paper. It has become my goto paper for much of my work.

This is now my 30th box and quite happy with the slight off White color, Matte finish as well as the weight of the paper.
