I have been using this paper to print my mixed media and oil paintings with my Epson Surecolor P7000. I find the colors come out vibrant and the details are super clear! I love it

I tried a variety of paper samples before settling on this one. It was the best mix for me of price and quality. While slightly more expensive than some of the other options, this paper has a rich, deep black and vivid colors. It produces excellent matte prints. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it smudges easier than some of the others.

Hot Press Bright is my favorite matte paper, and I’ve made hundreds of prints on my Epson 3880 and now P5000 as well as a rented 7800. I’ve used it successfully for hand-held portfolios (great in the hand), home-made artist books, and framed pieces. From 8.5×11 to 24×36. But I got two bad batches of 8.5×11. Took me awhile to confirm the problem. Looks like an ink bleed problem with blurry images and splotchy color blocks. I’ve successfully used 13×19, 17×22, 17″ rolls, and 24″ rolls. First time I’ve had a problem. I’ll continue to use it, but beware spotty quality control.

Used this paper for some personal work, as an art show and it came out really nice. Printed this paper on the Epson 3880 and the quality is just brilliant.

I love this paper. I found some at my school and immediately bought a roll. Definitely one of the best matte papers I’ve used and for an amazing price. Highly recommended.

This paper has incredible snap for a matte paper but with brighteners added, I guess we can’t be sure how it will look years from now. That said, the surface, weight, and color rendition of this fine art paper make it an excellent value for the money.

I print abstract photos on an Epson 3880 printer. I have tried several other papers and I find that the overall look of the Hot Press Bright looks fantastic for what I am trying to do. My photos go from stright B & W to very saturated colors and it handles them all very nicely. Good blacks, bright colors and even though it has a matt finish everything still pops and looks sharp. Also, the paper is thick enough so that you can handle it easily. I am also using the 8 x 10 cut of this paper and like it as well.

If you know this product, you know it’s available widely and what you’re getting. Paper is paper, but you need to get the right stuff. The point of this writing is the B&H difference. I am in Los Angeles, but you’d think from the way it was packed that I lived on Mars. The packaging was solid, secure, professional, and with obvious regard for the condition of the product and my need to have it arrive in good order. 15 stars for packing and delivery!!

I’ve never been super impressed with matte paper for photos or vector work until now. Love this stuff. I sell fine art prints off of my Epson 3880. Some contain text. I have found that it handles non-script letters better than cursive fonts, but that is true of most matte paper. Fine details in vector and photo is amazing. Heavy weight, nice soft feel for clients. The bright definitely holds color far better than some other brands- they really pop with a great deal of contrast I can’t get elsewhere. It’s a bit less cost effective than some others once you get into 17×22 territory but really worth it if you want high def and performance from a matte finish. Haven’t done BW photos yet, but get nice tone range for color with a softer look than Luster. Time will tell how they hold up. Epson ICC profiles work well. Gotta play around with printer and color settings to get what you need out of it.

feeds easily and produces nice, contrasty prints–not dull. i use this paper for landscape color prints. the recommended printer setting for my epson 3800 is ultrasmooth but do not forget that with this setting, you have to check the centered box in the printable area option if you want the print centered on the sheet.

This paper is thicker than the Archival Enhanced Matte but the colors print with a richer full bodied tone. Very nice.

Used with a Epson 7800 printer, this paper has great snap and color rendering for a matte paper. I was looking for a replacement for Somerset Velvet, and this is it. Good white paper color and a nice heavy weight to minimize curl. Unfortunately, Epson abandons owners of older printers, and doesn’t provide ICC profiles for this paper/printer combination. I used Ultrasmooth Fine Art profile and was satisfied with it.

I print using the Epson R3000 printer. I thought that my previous matte paper was good but this Hot Press Bright Smooth Matte is the best that I’ve seen. Razor sharp, great colors, matches what I see on my monitor, and the colors are vibrant without being over saturated. It also gives me the deepest blacks on my black & white photos.

I love this paper, I’ve been printing on it for about a year and can’t get away from it. Beautiful color reproduction and a soft velvety look. Epson paper is reasonably priced as opposed to some of the other fine art matte papers. I prefer the white balance of the hot press bright vs. the natural.

All of the Epson hot and cold press papers are great. Which one you use is dependent upon the subject matter, and of course your personal taste. If it’s going to be framed or displayed in any way, these and the Velvet Fine Art paper are my picks.
