I bought the Epson Hot Press Bright paper in a pack of 25 81/2 x 11 sheets just to experiment. The matte finish and the brilliant color reproduction turned me into an instant fan and I look forward to purchasing the paper in a larger size!

I have been using the Epson Hot Press Bright for my final prints on my Epson 3880 printer. Crisp detail and rich colors, especially the blacks.

Dynamic, lush and rich. My images have depth that you can only get with this matte paper! This is my goto! -Ososnell

This is the best fine art matte paper anyone has yet produced. It works great with even older printers with the Ultrachrome Ink. Great results from my six year old Epson 4000.

very nice paper; strong white; works well with b&w or color.

This is my first time printing with a matte finish Epson paper. I am a Photography student; In the past, I’ve used the more accessible Premium Luster Photo paper, but I’ve wanted to transition into something of a heavier weight with a matte finish. Though this is a more expensive paper, it is most definitely worth the price. I am so impressed with the quality of the prints. The finish is gorgeous. It arrived in no time and is very well packaged/protected. Would recommend! (Printing on Epson 3880.)

I am a very tough, discriminating critic of my own work/printing. As far as paper go, after trying them all, this is the one I use now exclusively for B&W printing (using Epson P800 mostly). I live how it handles transitions in the shadows and registration fo detail. Just excellent, even in the lightbox with a magnifier.

I bought this paper thinking it would work with the Epson 1430 Artisan printer I just bought but it turns out it is not recommended for this printertoo thick (though it does go through at 18mls it’s about 8 mls too thick)…. Oh well, it is very pretty and I am using it for proofs until I run through the box. Nevertheless, it is worth 5 stars and the B+H price was the best.

I use Hot Press Bright Smooth Matte with The Epson SC P600 and the match between my monitor and the prints is impeccable and the paper quality is first rate. I couldn’t be happier with this combination.

I use it to print photos for shows, and exhibitions. The printer needs to be set for mat paper, but the colors are awesome when the settings are right.

I love this paper. I found some at my school and immediately bought a roll. Definitely one of the best matte papers I’ve used and for an amazing price. Highly recommended.

I print on an Epson 3880. My two favorite papers for portfolios and prints that will be hung are Epson Hot Press Bright and Exhibition Fiber. I use the latter for about of my prints, especially those with a wide range of colors for which a certain amount of snap is needed. But both EFP and HPB excel at reproducing a wide color range and wide luminosity range. But some prints just look better with a flatter, matte surface. For these HPB is my go to paper. I use it for both B&W and color prints. For images with a narrower color and luminosity range, with particularly muted colors, I use Cold Press Natural. Usually, these images also benefit from a textured paper, somewhat less white paper, like CPN. I can’t think of any negatives.

Pleased in every way. Crisp, clear images pop in this fine art paper using an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Printer.

I bought the Epson paper to sell my digital prints and what a success! The paper absorbs the paper fully and with a spray fix the color becomes vibrant!

I tried a variety of paper samples before settling on this one. It was the best mix for me of price and quality. While slightly more expensive than some of the other options, this paper has a rich, deep black and vivid colors. It produces excellent matte prints. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it smudges easier than some of the others.

The best matte paper I have used. I print with an Epson 3880 and I love the results.

This is a great paper for landscape and nature photo prints. Simply the best Epson paper for such projects.

I’m a pro photography working 24/7 on my photography. Most of my work is for the Internet but my personal photography is printed. I have tried most paper but for last few years have used a luster finish as I was disappointed with matt papers some years ago and haven’t tried them since. At that time my pictures looked flat (to me) and lacked the punch I wanted – maybe just with certain colors, anyway I left them alone for many years. I don’t know what made me try the Epson Hot & Cold Press Bright papers but was blown away with the first print. I expected to write off a few sheets setting things up with the printer. I have never seen my prints look so good. Great blacks and tonal range. Punchy colors, but not over the top, really as close to my color calibrated 30 monitor as I have ever seen. No other paper came close as I usually need to tweek the printer driver slightly – not with these papers – as close as two different viewing sources can be. The scary thing is I made 30, 13 x 19 prints, in two days and that’s getting expensive. Two other points. I don’t see a huge difference between Cold & Hot surface finishes but there is some. Cold might be my future choice as it is supposed to have more surface texture, but it is marginal. The other thing to watch for is it is hard to tell the printing side from the back side. Epson place a warning sheet in the packet to say this side up but if you get distracted even the damp lip test makes it hard to confirm. Expensive but worth it for your best work. Oh I use a 3800 printer.

All of the Epson hot and cold press papers are great. Which one you use is dependent upon the subject matter, and of course your personal taste. If it’s going to be framed or displayed in any way, these and the Velvet Fine Art paper are my picks.
