The Epson 87 Yellow Ink Cartridge for Epson Stylus Photo R1900 Printers – prints digital photos that look and feel like traditional color lab prints. This quick-dry, ultra-fine ink provides vivid high-image quality output with minimum dot gain.
When the most vivid, brilliant colors and true deep blacks are critical to a photograph or proof, Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 inks are a logical choice. Epson photographic dye delivers a print with unparalleled color, density, and clarity. This ink is a favorite among commercial photographers, prepress proofing, and design professionals.

Inexpensive large format with terrific colour on all papers

I give it only three stars because of its small size/cost. Otherwise, it is excellent as part of the Epson R1900 system.

My comment refers to all 8 R1900 cartridges: The ink is excellent and the colors are perfect. But considering the small size of the cartridge and R1900 high ink consumption they are too expensive.

Works great with the r1900, but coming from the HP 9180 the cartridges are really small capacity

I use these cartridges to print Fine Art Digital Prints on Epson papers. Color is vivid and crisp. I’m also pleasantly surprised by how many prints I can make before running out of ink.

Results on the R1900 are beautiful. The gloss optimizer works well.

We love Epson inks! They perform consistently and are always of great quality. We do wish the cartridges held more ink however! These smaller ones do not seem to be as economical, and need to be changed out more often than larger ones.

Broader and clearer products choices. Competitive prices. Predictable delivery. What more could a shopper want? I had compared the largest on-line vendor, and a couple of others, but B&H was the best.

Epson inks in Epson Printers. A perfect match. As all Epson inks in this series, great color and vibrance. Highly recommend.

I switched to R1900 from Epson 2100 (Epson 2200 in US). Some would say it was as a step backward, but it was not. Yes 1900 does not give such nice matt on black and white prints, but in exchange it offers very realistic and fidel colours plus nice halftones. It is as good as my old Epson 1200 as far as the colours are concerned but is much better in halftones. The gloss is nice, but gloss cartridge empties very quickly. In general the cardridges are more expensive than for 2200 (I always was buying the 2200 cardridges for my 2100 printer, much more than twice cheaper !). Also it seems to me that 1900 cartridges are lower capacity than 2200, although I did not find confirmation of it anywhere. Note: for best colours print from Epson proprietary software, I never obtrained as good colours from Photoshop printing despite of extensive fiddling with colour profiles and set-ups. Epson software pring equaly well Adobe and sRGB images !.
