Epson’s new Vivid Magenta gives blue range of colors greater saturation and hue. I reprinted an image created with earlier generation inks and the new Vivid Magenta. The image printed with the Vivid Magenta appeared to print closer to what I saw in the viewfinder than the older formula.

If you’ve got an Epson R2880, sooner or later you’ll need more ink. Sure, Epson 96 UltraChrome K3 ink cartridges aren’t inexpensive, but they’re what fits, and it’s great ink. The 8-cartridge set helps when your supply cabinet is empty or nearly so–convenient. Matte Black covers most of the bases, and you can always buy the Photo Black and other colors individually as needed.
