Epson engineered the 157 Vivid Magenta Ink Cartridge for the Epson R3000 Printer. Epson utilized their UltraChrome K3 technology to produce deeper, richer tones.
With fine art printing in the front of their minds, Epson developed vivid magenta to bring out the true colors of something as delicate as a flame. Epson’s advanced magenta pigments bring to life the browns and the reds of your prints. Control your prints with the Epson advanced tones.

I can only echo the advice from photographers who print their own work, and that is to use the manufacturer’s inks. The Epson inks are simply the best. So far, I only use Ultra Premium Glossy and Luster papers with spectacular results. I purchased this because of a defective cartridge, but Epson also sent me a free replacement cartridge. Bravo Epson…

I am a professional calligrapher and reproduce many of my designs for resale to customers. B&H offers the fine art paper that I purchase, but also a better than most price on Epson UltraChrome K3 inks. These inks give me vibrant colors that mimic the original artwork. I’m pleased with the product. One problem…as ink cartridges run low, sometimes the colors alter a bit. For instance, I just printed a 61 page book and went back to adjust and reprint a page in the front of the book. The blues then, were not a perfect match. I removed the two lowest ink colors and the color was back to where it was originally. As I understand it, these inks need to dry for 24 hours before they are framed or enclosed in a sleeve.

I use the genuine Epson ink for making fine art prints. the quality of the prints are excellent. I have experienced a couple of dysfunctional cartridges that were replaced free of charge. the ink is very expensive. there are substitutes for this ink but I don’t print in high volume so I don’t think they would work for me.I want trouble free printing.
