We started developing streaks in our printer as soon as we’d started using the Sensormatic versions of this ink. With the other kind we never had them, but with the sensormatic even if we clean the print head multiple times a day it seems that it’s always back that day. We do regular maintenance and updates, print head alignment is good, and the print head cleaning report when it’s having issues doesn’t show anything, but after cleaning it a couple times it’s usually good for another 20 or 30 prints, then we have to have it clean out again. I’m trying to flush out the sensormatic black and magenta that we’ve used. If not using it over time resolves the issue then realistically it should be a sensormatic issue, but the other stuff was fine with over 10,000 prints in a year and not needing a head cleaning once. Within 100 prints of using the sensormatic ink we’ve been performing print head cleanings nearly daily.

This ink & the eco-tank printer combo are by far my favorite Epson experience. The colors cost as much as carts for smaller printers, but last so much longer, particularly on nearly full coverage 8.5×11 pages. The bottles have been redesigned recently, meaning they’re easier to store (with a lid instead of a snap cap), and you’re less likely to get it on your hands when refilling tanks. Be careful with the black so as not to over-fill your tank! 🙂 I keep a pipette on hand for removing any excess.
