Don’t like the wooden handle but I guess it would do the job.

WELL MADE AND GOOD FOR WHACKING THINGS YOU DO NOT WANT TO DAMAGE AS WITH A STEEL HAMMER. I LIKE THIS HAMMER.

I gave the mallet 5 stars for it’s overall quality, even though I was going to modify it somewhat. I will be using the mallet gripping it both at the end of the handle as well as somewhere near the middle, depending on how hard I want to hit. For this reason, I modified the handle to take the “bulge” near the center out, making it basically the same size for the whole length, but leaving the end flare to give a more secure grip. Once I had the shape where I wanted it, I scraped the handle to remove the factory finish and applied a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil. Final step was to wrap it with tape to give a better grip.

Like the fact it has two different sides for different materials. Works well for getting PVC joints together.

Finally broke my rubber mallet and needed to finish a project and the Estwing double-face soft hammer was the only replacement I could find. It did the job but I would have preferred a softer surface for the project. I am looking forward to trying it out on other projects.

Easy to use. Best option for laying vinyl flooring and being able to not negatively impact products.
