Steel handle gives this hammer durablity. I have cracked fiberglass and broken wooden handles. Molded grip is comfortable and gives control, even with wet hands.

Received the 12 oz. ball pein which HD does not carry in stores- despite how common the size is. The head was ground off center to the shaft and the shaft itself did not have centered contour lines. This unit must have gotten by the quality inspectors.
