My dad bought one of these back in the day and all throughout my childhood I used this hammer. He still has it and I now had to get one. I like the weight of this hammer and it’s remarkably durable. Highly recommend for everyone.

I had one before but left it in an attic space that was sealed up and could not retrieve it. I had an extra hammer…… not and Estwing……. and hated it. I finally got this and everything is much better now….ha. Surprised at how the quality of the Estwing makes that much difference in a simple hammer. But it DOES.

I have owned this hammer for a number of years now and recently purchased it for my sons to add to their tool sets. The Estwing hammer line is a solid tool that should last a lifetime. The handle reduces the vibration to the hand and is very comfortable. My Father owned two and while they have a little surface rust now after so many decades in the basement they are still as functional today as when originally purchased.A couple of years ago I was on a construction site and the hammers were not the solid steel construction of the Estwing. While the wooden, fiberglass or composite hammers are functional (and less expensive) they can not stand up to the abuse that happens over time or with harsh usage. It just confirmed the value and need for high quality basic tools like the Estwing hammer.

Bought 1 of these when the $17 represented 3-4 hours pay. Just saw this listed, and mine happens to be nearby. Looks well used, but undamaged. Handle nylon holds up well, not a chip out of it and still supple, 35 years later. If you are considering it, buy it. It may outlive you.Framers don’t care for the ringing of the steel by the end of the day, to be fair, but I’m not a framer, and this isn’t a framing hammer.
