This 20 oz. rip claw nail hammer is forged in 1-piece solid steel, and fully polished. Balance and temper are unsurpassed. It’s an Estwing hammer. You will only ever NEED one. I bought the equivalent to this hammer in 99 when I started doing consruction. Used it for 8 years, and still have it somewhere, maybe. Someone either commandeered it or misplaced it. That’s the only reason I had to buy a new one. Other one was perfectly fine after 8 years of construction and 13 years of normal homeowner use.

This is one of the best claw hammers that I have owned. It is very well balanced and comfortable to use. It also seems to be a perfect size for a do-it-yourselfer as it is slightly heavier than a standard 16 oz and has slightly more force and it is not as heavy and cumbersome as a 22 oz + framing hammer. It has been a very versatile hammer as I have used it for everything from framing to installing trim. The only potential downside is it has a slight ring that follows each blow.
