My buddy has one of these and suggested I get one. It’s solid metal so no dealing with broken handles. 4 pounds has some good weight to it, but not too heavy…..you can swing it rapidly without tearing your rotator cuff. It makes kindling really easily out of logs and it is just big and strong enough to split good sized logs if need be. Really happy with it and would get one if you have a fireplace or wood stove. It took me 10 minutes to make a whole bin of kindling.

Very nice woodsplitting tool. Fantastic for making kindling out of larger pieces. Sharp edge, ergonomic and the blade has a protective sheath. I did purchase the 64oz. Estwing Blacksmith Hammer which I use along with this tool – sort of like a wedge/hammer. The two tools used together work extremely well. Both items come highly recommended.
