I have looked at a number of different hatchets, axes, etc and this one seemed to be exactly what I wanted. It was by far the most expensive, but it seems to be extremely well made. I don’t expect any repairs other than keeping it sharp.

Excellent axe for a multitude of uses! I also use it with a 4 lb. sledge to split wood the easy way!

Very nice axe and cuts really well. I will see how it holds an edge when I resharpen it when needed. One of the only drawbacks is it is very light which makes it easy to swing for longer periods but it takes more swings to cut thru bigger items but it is short enough to fit in my backpack and will only be used probably for setting up a shelter and making firewood. Overall I would recommend this axe for its lightweight and carry capability.

Great all around camp axe. Even as a carry with tool. Big enough that you could chop anything, small enough to carry or chop small stuff.

Another well made Estwing tool. Cuts great despite it’s lighter weight. The all steel construction means it will last for generations.

I swung a 28 oz Estwing framing hammer going on 30 years, the camper’s axe is of the same quality and feel, I hope to live long enough to give another stellar review in 30 years.

Great American-made axe

It’s ok, very rugged. But just realize it will not be perfect. One thing I didn’t realize is this estwing is Not full tang. It’s not super sharp either. It’s not very heavy which is nice for backpacking. I have other axes about the same price that I prefer. But it’s not bad just realize what you are getting. If you take the time to care for any imperfections it’s fine.

Awesome quality, American made for generations by the same family. The price at HD @ $39.00 was unbeatable. Most other prices varied from 59-99 dollars.

This axe was was true to it’s description as advertised. Balance and security of head to handle was good. So,all in all I was satisfied with the product.

Packed this axe on our Boundary Waters trip. Fantastic, light enough to carry but big enough to get the job done. The light weight and good balance allow use as a hatchet. Even when the blade was rolled hitting granite rocks it was easily trued, sharpened, and ready for duty.
