I have wanted one of these since I first saw them on the manufacturer’s web site. The tool is well made and has a familiar Estwing feel to it. The spike is sharp and sticks well in most materials. It is durable as I had missed the seasoned 4×4 and hit my brother’s concrete garage floor and took a good piece from the floor with no ill effect to the spike. The blade has a good amout of heft but I’d like a little more for serious chopping. It hacked through old lumber with ease and went through pop and soup cans without problem. The steath is ok and looks to be more sport or utility oriented then as a defensive quick deploying style. For the price, build quality and American Made you will be pressed to find one better. Also, super fast delivery and great service from Home Depot, 5 stars for you as well.

I can’t give it 5 stars because I purchased less than 30 days ago and have not used this axe yet. I purchased for emergencies/camping. I had to hone the edge out of the box, no big deal as the blade is coated in lacquer for metal protection. Very sharp once honed. Nice feel in either hand, balanced, light weight. The punch end is also very sharp, should have no problem with breaching doors or breaking glass, objects may stick to it though. I like the high impact rubber handle for shock reduction and comfort and you can’t go wrong with Estwing!!!!
