It is Estwing, solid, not cheap and you may loose it, but never break it.

This would not be something you would want to take on a long hike, but for you Glampoors it perfect.

It comes with a decent sheath. It’s not super sharp but has a good “utility edge” but that may be because the black coating was applied over the edge and not removed during any final sharpening process like most coated knives are. If you want it really sharp, be prepared to put a little work into it. I’d rate this axe much higher than any other one I’ve ever held at knife stores and shows. Most others are either made of less quality steel cutouts and/or have the bolt on plastic handles that just don’t compare to this forged, USA made axe.

I bought this for my husband who had seen it online. He totally loved it. He now owns 5 different Estwing products and is very happy with the quality of them all!

Excellent quality very good combination of lightweight yet heavy duty. I think I am going to make one end into a hammer or blunt maul that way I will have multi purpose

This double bit axe is very well balanced and very well made. It would be perfect for any camp chores and balanced perfectly for throwing. I purchased this product for throwing as I am an avid tomahawk man, but, after handling it, it’s size, weight, and chopping power I believe it is destined to become my new pack/camp axe as well. The sheath is more than adequate for it’s purpose; however, it is not designed with a speedy deployment in mind. It does not come razor sharp but I have yet to ever buy a knife or axe that I didn’t feel needed sharpened before use. I own several models of the top brands, none is better than this. Anyone who would claim this to be less than top quality is sadly mistaken. As a side note, personally I love the look of the stacked leather handle model. I chose the black with the black nylon vinyl grip due to the fact it is bound to get beat up while throwing multiple weapons at a target. Also, if you plan on throwing it, please, get some training first it can be dangerous to you and or any by-standers. At the very least buy a book explaining the mechanics of hawk throwing.

Product was exactly as advertised, except more scratches and chips than would like. It was used as an engraved gift, so presentation could have been better.

Solid, like all Estwing products. Sheath is not convenient but it protects you from the axe. Throws great!

It was a week in waiting to get from Rockford IL. to Lincoln NE. but it was worth the wait. the Estwing delivers, I went through 3.5″ – 5″ dry oak limbs in one swing. Now I’m ready for camping or a zombie apocalypse. whatever comes first.

I have not had a chance to use it yet but it is smaller than I thought.

Excellent quality. Solid steel handle to blade allows long usage without breaking compared to a two piece axe. i.e. wooden handle, steel head, or cheap “tactical” tool where the head is riveted to the handle.

Everything I expected and more!

I’ve been mulling over the decision to buy this for a long time…so glad i finally did! I just use it for small shrubs and breaking down branches for kindling, but this lil beast could definitely handle large jobs quite easily.
