I find it perfect for quickly chopping down brush that’s too thick for my weed whacker. It’s sharper and more solidly built than expected, nothing like the cheap sheet-metal like “machetes” most often seen. Properly maintained & not abused, it should last a lifetime. The included sheath is much appreciated.

This is a good machete out of the package and sliced through some brush and branches fairly easily. The serrated rear makes for a good saw on some larger branches for clearing. Decent size and weight making it a good and balanced for swinging. The sheath keeps it protected from accidental drops and weather proofs nicely keeping the blade from rusting.

This machete is perfect for anyone that does any camping, hunting, or any outdoor activities!! Nice rubber grip & very sharp! I have used the machete for cutting through thicker brush behind my fence in my back yard. It comes with a very nice carry sheath. It also has a serrated edge that is nice for cutting with a sawing motion. It doesn’t replace a saw, but is handy!!

The size is good and the blade seems to be durable although I have not put it to extensive use. The only think I had to trim back was a small bush with branches about a quarter inch thick. As long as there was tension the blade went through the branches just fine. Eventually I got to the base of the bush and it was only about an inch to two inches thick and after a while the saw portion cleared the whole bush.

When I picked it up at the store. It had a small dent in the blade. The packaging was in perfect shape. Looked like a manufacturing defect. I needed it right away so I didn’t return it to the store. Other than that it is made very well.

It looks and feels so good in my hand that I don’t even want to use it in my yard. I am thinking about saving it for the zombie apocalypse. The cover is pretty strong and locks the machete in it. The belt loop in the cover is also very handy to carry it around. It’s light on the hands but has a valuable weight to it. It feels and looks very well made.

Great buy. Met all my expectations. Had to have 2. One for us and one for Dad. Worked great on our camping trip.

This is one mean machete! High quality and versatile for clearing brush, to gathering kindling for a campfire to demolition. I thought it might be too short at first to really get any leverage when swinging it but the weight totally compensates for it. The weight feels just right but I don’t know if I’d want to take it hiking. It might get cumbersome after a while. The blade is thick and keeps an edge. The grip is comfortable, also. Good tool. I’m glad I have it.

This is by far the best machete anyone can purchase. Have no doubt about this hand tool, great for campers, it worth the price. There’s many good reasons it has a five star rating!

Great and solid tool that has allowed us to easily clear the vines and brush along the side of our property. The sheath it comes with hooks nicely onto your belt and it pulls easily from it every time. Nice solid build, once piece of metal with no seams to worry about splitting or breaking. The blade came nice and sharp for a fast jump into being used and the serrated edge easily cut through some of the bigger vine.

This is made for heavy, thick wood like brush. If you are using it for clustered thin brush, it will not work because the width is too thick. You will need a thin bladed machete like the ones used in the jungle. Different environments use different machetes. Pros: handle, saw on the back are great. Cons: blade dulls easy even with sharpening and filing. Blade width too thick for regular brush.

This is more of a cane knife at 19 inches overall length. It cuts great. The weight of the tool carries thru the cut. No bouncing off a target because it is too thin or light. Excellent tool with the same great grip off all Estwing tools!

So far I’m loving this machete. I had previously relied on cheap, flimsy ones to take care of overgrown brush and trees around the house. This Estwing is way better. The forged blade is nice and thick, giving it added weight to help get powerful swings in. On the backside, the serrated teeth are offset and also look sturdy. Unfortunately I haven’t had a need to use them, so I can’t comment on their performance. The finish has held up quite nicely and I haven’t noticed any rusting.Rounding out the machete is the well made and comfortable rubber handle. Its thick enough for me, but those with larger hands might wish it were of a greater diameter. And finally, the sheath. It takes quite a bit of massaging to get it to properly fit the machete as it is made out of a pretty thick nylon. Unlike other sheaths I’ve dealt with, this one is a one piece design that’s riveted and sewed on the blade side, so it should hold up pretty well. The strap does a good job of keeping the machete in place. Only gripe with it is that the belt loop is a little tight, but that’s not a very big deal.I highly recommend it! Oh yea, its made in the USA! Or at least the steel is from the US.
