Works like a charm! Dug in and pulled 2” nails from 3/4” underlayment that was nailed into 3/4” subfloor and floor joists. Nails were all sunk below surface. After pulling 500+ nails this thing show zero signs of wear, even after bashing with a hammer to dig in, even the claw tips are still sharp

My previous nail puller went missing and I bought this because a journeyman carpenter recommended it. The design is standard and the quality of manufacture is pretty good. To be honest the metal looked soft but after using it for a couple months that hasn’t been the case at all, just shinier than I am used to. One thing I like that sets it apart from standard cat’s paws is the cushioned grip. Occasional users may not appreciate it fully but anybody that has done careful demolition and pulled out a fair number of 8d and 16d nails can tell you that all the vibration hurts your hand and wrist. The cushioned grip on this nail puller seems to reduce that fatigue. Overall a good tool from a reputable company. You won’t be disappointed.

Out of 5 pry bars I’ve got, this one BY FAR is THE BEST to pull out nails that are below the surface on the subfloor, and without destroying the plywood. must have for your box!

The quality of this tool just blows away every other (non-Estwing) cat’s paw on the shelf! I went down to my Home Depot and not the other guys because HD actually had a selection of nail pullers available and I could see them side by side. Based on the online pics, I thought I would be getting the DeWalt puller but once I held it in my hands I was disappointed. The grindings were rough and the overall casting was poor next to a Estwing. All of Estwing’s pry bars are of extremely high quality ad far out shine the others. This 12 in is actually Japanese steel. The shorter version is made in Taiwan and the one I actually closely inspected in the store before making my decision. I then decided to go with a 12 in version and only noticed it origin after I got home making my wife look at the cool tool I got. It’s just exciting for tool geek like me to find quality these days…

I was looking for a tool to help me lift a concrete water main cover. A simple screw driver probably would have done the job, but the 12 in. Pro-Claw Nail Puller was recommended to me by a Home Depot associate and it worked beautifully. At the time of purchase, I had no idea this was a nail puller. Now, I have another use for it and probably many more.

after destroying cushioned handle, you are left with an uncomfortable small metal shaft
