As with every Estwing product that I have bought, over a 30 yr period, it is excellent. Good steel, tough, not brittle, and well designed. I am pleased, as I do ‘old work’ and historic restoration/repair.

I spent an hour pulling a few nails that remained after removing boards from my deck – I used a hammer and broke the two I owned! I went to the HD to get a new hammer and bought this tool as well. Came home and in 10 minutes I pulled out a fair number of nails easily including the one that broke my 2 hammers! I found the tool to be easy to control too.

Best nail puller I’ve used. It grabs long 3 1/2 deck nails the best I’ve used. It’s leverage is the best I’ve had. Made in japan not China. High quality.

At the title says, it does the least amount of damage to the wood and gives very good nail pulling power.

I got this for when I’m working on framing, it’s great for using as a pry bar and easily digging out unwanted nails, I did cut the blue grip off though because it was a pain to put in my pouch with it on. Overall great tool for framers!

I used this to remove the deck boards and hand rails so I could replace them. It did minimal damage to the existing boards. In fact I joked about just flipping the boards over and reusing them but alas they were on the 45 degree so they would not match up with the strings. Not that I would seriously do that as the deck is over 13 years old but the board did look good on the other side. Dry rot would have been an issue.

About this tool initially to pull nails and I home I have just purchased. I discovered that it was also a great tool for lifting out the shoe moulding. It’s light weight and size made it manageable to use.

This tool is THE TOOL to get if you want to disassemble a building piece by piece by pulling out all the nails. It was the only one with the longest shaft which made it able to pull out 16D nails reliably. Themetal material is super hard and sharp and does not fail with repeated hammering. Better tool than the32 year older version I had used many years ago which required a pipe extension to pull those nailsand often failed.

The Estwing 14″ pro claw nail puller I purchased is an awesome addition to my Estwing 10″ pro claw nail puller, and my 12″ pro claw moulding puller. The Estwing brand is a favorite brand of mine. I have numerous hand tools made by Estwing, considering the decent craftmanship and reputation of their tools.

I was looking for a tool to pull 16p hot galvanized nails from channel rustic cedar siding. The smaller “cats paw” nail pullers were too short and a larger “wonder bar” jaw was too wide. This 14″ has a small enough head to not require extensive tear out and a long enough bar to provide adequate leverage which is critical while hanging on a ladder. I like the tool.
