I am very pleased with the design, accuracy, and ruggedness of this product. I would recommend it for anyone looking for precision cuts in a quick manner. However, I would not recommend the lower model “RAGE2”, it is very flimsy and inaccurate. I tried to return it to Home Depot after 9 months and they could not due to the 90 day warranty. I had seldom used it and was disappointed with the backing of the product by the reseller.

I bought this saw to replace a Dewalt abrasive wheel saw. It is far far better than an abrasive saw. Clean edges that are coil to the touch. The actual fence is taller and closer to the blade than my old saw. This makes cutting short stock easier. It has an adapter for round stock but I cut 3″ tubing without it just fine. It had 3 feet sticking out without slipping. Old saw couldn’t do that. Cons: The switch has a safety button that is hard to use if you’re left handed like me. Thereally is a sticking spot when you first pull the handle down. It doesn’t have any holes to be able to bolt it down.

Out of the box the vise was square and true enought for me (.004″ in 6″). First job was making 30 cuts of 1/2″ EMT, burrs if any were removed by a finger touch. Next job was 8 cuts of 1/4″ × 4″ bar, burrs were also minor. Third job was 20 cuts of 2″ Square Tube with 1/16″ wall with very little burr. I an exceedingly pleased with this purchase, my abrasive saw will only get used on suspect junk metal from now on and my torch won’t ever get used. The most important thing for me is square and true cuts and this saw delivered, almost burr free is a bonus. This one has cast base which was important to me after using several abrasive saws with stamped bases.

Nice unit. The blue saw has the cast iron base and cost more as compared to the yellow saw having a stamped base if you’ve seen them online.

All I can say is wow. Wish I would have found this years ago. There are no sparks, no dust and it is not as loud as I thought it would be. Makes perfect cuts, just don’t try to crowd it, let it cuts through the metal at it’s on pace. Really like the material lock system.

Very nice saw. Using the lower RPM saw with the Evolution blades has been working well for me so far.The first Stainless Steel Blade I bought in addition to the saw that comes with a General Purpose Steel cutting blade did not hold up very well. The new one seems MUCH better! QC issues???

THIS METAL CUTTING BLADE IS AMAZING!. CUTS LIKE A KNIFE THRU BUTTER, HOWEVER, THE MOTOR IS SLIGHTLY UNDER POWERED. TO CUT, YOU CAN ONLY EXERT A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF DOWNWARD PRESSURE, OTHERWISE, IT BINDS AND THE BLADE STOPS TURNING. THERE APPEARS TO BE A SPRING-TYPE CLUTCH THE ALLOWS THE BLADE TO STOP COMPLETELY, YET THE MOTOR CONTINUES TO RUN BEFORE IT COMPLETELY STOPS ALSO. STILL BETTER THAN AN ABRASIVE BLADE THOUGH.

Very nice clean cuts, had to adjust (modify) the miter, it was not exactly at 45 degrees.

Oh, all the chop saws that I have owned … I didn’t realize how great a tool could be! I love this thing! I actually bought this by accident. Someone on youtube had recommended this saw and someone else a vise that could be used on an angle. Blah blah blah! I put them in my cart for later review cause I really didn’t want to spend the money. Well, I need some saw blades for my bandsaw and real quickly I clicked on them and purchased them not realizing that I had “other items” in my cart. $400 for saw blades? What the heck did I just buy? Ta Da! I should have bought one years ago. This thing works wonderfully although it’s the loudest saw I’ve ever run. But for the noise factor … it screams through the steel.
