Smooth running saw and accurate cuts. Out of the box everything worked as it is supposed to. The soft start feature allows the motor to startup slowly and up to speed after a few seconds. This process takes out the voltage surge in the startup. It also feels safer. More convenient since the blade will cut both wood and some metals. You do not have to change saws or blades to cut metal and wood. I am very pleased.

The saw is very powerful when cutting 2X6’s and 2X4’s.. It was accurate out of the box. I then took it to task. I cut angle iron and it was just as easy as cutting wood. The metal was cool to the touch after cutting. Very little sparking and definitely no trail of “fire” like my other metal cutting saws. I will recommend this to everyone.

I got nothing but great things to say about this saw! Well work the money to me. I can’t say about how long it will last but so far so good. It cuts great I’ve used it on light metal like angle iron and I cut a ton of pressure treated 2X6 to make a picnic table. Remember bc it can cut metal or wood it has to be geared to be able to cut the hardest material “metal” so its a slow start. Just give it a second before digging in and your good to go. Great saw for a great price, other saws in this category cost double or triple the price and this saw can do way more. Get it !

I bought this as a DIY tool having been disappointed in an earlier purchase of a super-cheap compound miter saw. I use it mostly on plywood, 2×4’s and some oak.It was easy to set up and align and it provides a reasonably clean cut. Soft start and quick blade braking are key features for me.

This saw has a lot of features for the money. Follow the assembly instructions to the letter and the unit comes together nicely, illustrations are fairly clear but instructions do mix across various models (such as U.S. and European models) so you may or may not have various parts included. Be sure to note exactly which model you have and which parts are applicable to your model as annotated in the manual as this can cause unnecessary confusion during assembly. Be advised about one very important note NOT mentioned in the manual which concerns the motor “hum” when the trigger is pulled to start the saw. When it is fully assembled and you have made all the final safety checks and test the unit for the first time you will find the motor “hums” when the trigger is pulled to start the saw running. You may think it is not starting as fast as it should, that the motor is under stress as if something is wrong (I’m an electrician and thought this was an issue myself). As verified by Evolution techs, this is NORMAL by design. As explained the motor on this saw is designed to prevent motor “spikes” (current spikes) during startup. This can be good under certain circumstances such as being onsite using a generator for power instead of a utility power supply and unnecessarily overloading and popping circuit breakers. When you pull the trigger, hold it for at least three to four seconds to allow the saw to start spinning and come to full speed. If it takes longer than this then call Evolution FIRST before returning the saw to ensure everything is correct and safe and verify you do actually have a defective saw. Evolution should properly annotate this in the manual to prevent unnecessary returns by customers. The first saw I received was most definitely a previous return, maybe for this very reason noted by the box being re-taped and the greasy fingerprints left behind on the saw blade envelop by a previous customer. I opted to return that saw to receive a virgin saw which worked fully as expected. I purchased this saw for non-professional use, more for personal projects and home improvement but the overall design looks and feels solid and would probably serve well for professional use. The saw comes with features found in more expensive units such as the laser light used to sight your cutting lines and a multipurpose blade allowing cuts to various type materials, light metals, PVC, wood and others. My use so far is limited but properly mounted on a table or stand I believe this saw should provide a customer many years of reliable safe service. The warranty is decent and contact with Evolution was fast, easy, and professional.

This is a great miter saw if you need it for DIY, it has lots of features same as the expensive brands but it’s not as heavy duty as my dewalt dws780, but it’s a great saw for 1/3 the price… it needs some minor adjustments every while depends on your usage, but once it’s done it’s a work horse ….

Truly is multi-purpose and does it all well. In 2 weeks of owning I’ve cut wood, aluminum, PVC, & steel all without issue. Everything feels quality, came square and angles for miter and bevel are right on. Bearings in the slide were great when cutting green pressure treated 2x8s at a 45 bevel. The laser is convenient and spot on but does get covered in dust after a few cuts, just brush it off. Cut 16ga 2″ square steel tubing and love how quick, quiet, and cool it cut. Highly recommend.
