I used it to build a hoist and a 72 inch belt grinder. Cutting 1 1/2 mild steel tubing 1/8 thick walls. I have made maybe 40 cuts. It works great. The cuts are clean, miters are clean and square. It cuts like a hot knife through butter just hit the trigger, let the blade do the work and in about 2 seconds it is through the tubing. Faster and cleaner than a grinding wheel type. Only draw back is the blades are $87.00 to replace. Not sure how long the blade will last so far it still cuts like it’s new.

I bought this saw since my last project using a hacksaw was a nightmare. it doesn’t cut perfectly square but for the stuff I’m doing it’s not a big deal. have made probably 30 cuts with the included blade and so far so good. have cut 1/8 angle iron and 3″ square tubing and it went thiygh like butter. is loud but it’s not a big deal. awesome purchase and great price. I don’t think I’d recommend this over the makita or dewalt if it’s intended for commercial use but great tool for the price. 1 star is taken off just for the imperfect squaring and poor clamp design. cutting the angle was fine with the included clamping bracket.

Great metal -wood saw . Cuts straight and smooth , no smell like an abrasive blade.

I’ve used an abrasive cut off saw in the past. I hated the noise and the mess. The metal chips remain in a relatively small area and are easier to clean up. The noise level is certainly lower too. At this point, the blade is very sharp and it cuts very well and faster than an abrasive cutter. It is also more versatile. I had to cut a piece of wood and didn’t want to dig out my saw for cutting wood, so I used this saw and it worked well.

I just bought this today to cut 3/16x3in.x3in. square tubing to make a frame for a welding table and it cut thru like butter ….very impressed with this saw …

Using it to cut EZ Screen aluminum screen frame pieces. Mounted it to a foldable miter saw wheeled cart for easy movement and not having to bend over to use it. Only gripe I have is no dust bag or vacuum attachment to catch the aluminum or other non-ferrous filings.

This saw is great. l have another abrasive name brand saw and this runs rings around it in every way. the fence is accurate and stays tight no matter how hard l clamp the material. it is well built and a great value for the money. l have cut 4″ x 1/4″ square tubing like it was butter. The included multipurpose blade still cuts like new after hours of cutting steal tubing but I’m sure it will cut wood just fine. My only nit to pick is there is no quick release and you have to turn it back with the crank. My other name brand saw cost me twice as much and this saw out shines it in every area hands down a great deal.

I needed something to cut 1-1/2 angle for a project rather than using my angle grinder with a wafer wheel. For the money there is nothing that compares. It cuts much faster than an abrasive saw. Four stars because the base is a bit flimsy, but it does function as intended.

Just finished a roof rack project with a dewalt abrasive saw and that saw has nothing on this saw. This saw is much smoother and quicker than the dewalt. Comes with a couple attachments that make cutting certain things really easy

Excellent saw! I made 221 45° cuts on some 2x2x14ga square tubing the first day i bought it. Blade is still as sharp as the first cut. I built a cut table around it bc i had so many of the same pieces to cut, so my tubing stays nice and tight while cutting. I read some of the reviews about the clamp doesnt hold a 45° very well.

This product is far superior to the abrasive chop saws, makes much cleaner and precise cuts and much faster. The only reason I would not give five stars is changing the angle cut bar is cumbersome and not precise, however it is no worse than the abrasive chop saws.

Overall this product does what it states it will do. However, if your buying this saw to cut metal you would be better off with another unit.I purchased this saw to cut mild steel in my home shop. The saw itself works very well! It will hog through steel in no time! It will hog through anything else you want to put in there as well, plastics, wood, wood with nails, laminates, I would assume tile even though I did not try that. The saw that was delivered to me was a little defective. I could NOT get good straight cuts out of this saw. After calling Evolution and working with their technical support, the only recommendation was for me to either return it or for them to ship me a new base and for me to replace the base myself. (We had determined the base was not perfectly flat)I opted to replace the base. I waited for two weeks and never got a call or email back from Evolution to organize shipping the base to me.After that I just packaged the saw up and sent it back for a full refund.

I love this saw, I’m a guy that works out of his garage who has only worked with wood over the years. About 7 years I bought a welder and started working with steel. I can absolutely say that you will love this saw over ANY abrasive disk chop saw. It’s cuts very fast and must more accurate. The one thing I like about the more expensive evolution is the quick-release on the screw drive. It takes a little longer to spin the wheel. Did I say I love this saw. Get the metal cutting blade too!

Cuts like butter!!! I do a lot of cutting with metal and this saw has saved me so much time, plus after a cut, the metal is cool to the touch, definitely worth it

This saw is must improved over the earlier none abrasive metal cutting saws in so many ways. First you have no sparks to deal with and a far lower chance of burning the back ground area. You still need to be aware of hot metal dropping from the saw due to the heat developed by metal on metal contact. As for accuracy of cutting, you need to remember this is basically a metal chop saw and it has only rudimentary angle scale markings. You need to get out your protractor and actually set the angles you actually need. The other problem is one based on price. This low cost model requires you to manually turn the dial to move the fence in or out. While the large unit allows you to flip the top half of the screw lock and move the screw faster. As for ease of cut or performance of the saw I could not be happier it has the power to cut through most steels, Aluminum and even get perfect cuts from 4 x 4 lumber, and added benefit you will come to greatly appreciate.
