The RAGE2 is a 14-inch Multipurpose Chop Saw that can cut mild steel and a variety of materials. A powerful 15A/1800W motor, hi-torque gearbox, solid construction and ultra-high grade TCT blade enables the Rage 2 to cut steel, aluminum, wood, wood with embedded nails, and plastics with just the one supplied blade. This chop saw cuts steel with no heat, no burrs & virtually no sparks; leaving an instantly workable finish. The included high grade carbide multipurpose blade far exceeds the life of an abrasive disc; making the Rage 2 quicker, safer, more accurate & economical than an abrasive saw. The RAGE2 also comes with a fast action swivel clamp for 0-45 degree miter cuts, V-block for securely clamping pipe, and a 3 year limited warranty. Good for the price, but not without “issues”. Buy the EVO380 if you can afford it. The stamped steel base on this one is not great and the miter “alignment” marks aren’t correct, so you will need to use a square to achieve exact angles. I’ve only made about 20 cuts on mild steel, so not sure how long the blade will last. I’m guessing the “material specific” blades would work better than the included “multi purpose” blade, but the cuts look good and square. Lots of chips and no chip collection, like on more expensive saws. So, for me,, it will work, but if I were going to use for serious work… I’d spend the $ on a better saw. But, for a small garage area, I still prefer this to an abrasive disc chop saw…..

Saw arrived in original packaging that was in bad shape, looked to have been retaped several times and bottom open, so yes was worried all was ok. Long story short saw was in good condition and worked like a champ! I use a $500 saw at work and this saw does what ours does, very satisfied with saw so far. If you are looking for something that is a lot faster than an abrasive cutting saw. Cut 6inch perling in 30 seconds, vs 5 min. with the old abrasive saw i had. i would suggest taking a look at this saw, guess time will tell if it holds up, but with 3 year warranty and the option of 2 extra years through Home Depot, in my opinion it’s a good value. ++++

Best option for cutting metals. No dust and hassle as compared to the old school cut off disc type saws. This item NEEDS to be carried in select Home Depot stores as I’m sure sales would increase.
