This unit was purchased for new construction and has not been installed. From my research it appears that filters from most manufacturers are interchangeable with other filter systems. So why buy a system that costs more and is of lesser quality. The Express Water system is of the highest quality and manufactured of durable stainless steel. Fit and finish is excellent and comes with a pressure gauge for each filter bank. The way it was packaged was excellent as well. My plumber was also very impressed with the unit. My initial impression is that I made the right choice and got the best quality at the best price.

I am on a well system with a single stage filter, and noticed the filter was clogging frequently with red dirt. I also noticed mold growth on the filter. I decided to upgrade my filtration system.After looking around at the larger 1million gallon systems, those all have lower flow rates. I did not want to lose pressure but wanted multiple stages. I settled on this filter system for my house, but based on other recommendations also purchased a spin down prefilter 50 microns to prolong the life of this filter system. I am not a plumber, but I have done other plumbing projects so I have some experience. I drew out the pipe and connections I would need and bought all the connectors ahead of time. I know I am not good at sweat connections, so I wanted to use pex. Pex and sharkbite do not make push connections that would work for this, so I had to use the barb fittings. I do not own the tool so I rented it from HD for $14 for the day. I laid everything out and had it all ready to go, then got the tool and shut off the whole house water and cut through the pipes. Making the connections was easy. As others advised to use a lot of teflon tape on the connections to the water filter itself, I opted to use the tube of thread sealant instead and it worked out great – no leaks from the end connections. My spin down filter hooked right into the system directly (I did have to loosen the screws to drop the first large filter to allow it to spin on). Once I had my connections made, I started it up – and there was a leak. My connections were all perfect, but the unit itself was leaking from the 1 inch connector that goes between the first and second filters. I called the company and customer service was not helpful. She advised I remove the second filter, which did nothing. Instead, I tightened the connector to one side, put on thread sealant then tightened it to the other side, added thread sealant to that side, and then put it in the middle. I waited about 30 min then started it again and no leaks. I have had it in use for 2 days now. No leaks or issues. The water seems to have less of a slimy feel (we have a lot of rust and iron in our water) and seems to rinse better from skin. There is no drop in pressure at all – in fact, it seems better than with our old filter (which I suspect was slowing down water flow by clogging). I am overall pleased with this system. Customer service could use some help. Also, today I noticed that the pressure gauges (the main reason I bought this system – so you know when there is a drop in pressure in one filter and can change that one) do nothing. All are at 0. I will call the company to ask about this but have not done it yet. I should disclose that while I was going to write this anyway, I was more inspired by the fact that the box came with an offer for a $10 gift card if you leave a review. I am not sure I will actually receive it.

The system works as expected. Installed easily with no leaks. Before my water had an earthy smell with some silt. Now my water smells fresh with no silt and soaps lather more than before. It is a three filter system without RO. After researching RO systems on health I would never use one. The three filter system I purchased from you filters out only specific chemicals which is exactly what I wanted. True RO systems filter out everything producing dead water (essentially distilled water) which has no benefits to the human body.
