I bought this adaptor for one simple task – to allow access to a HDMI outlet for my 27 iMac from the front of the machine. I’d originally bought one with a shorter cable, but that meant reaching over and round the screen / machine every time I wanted to connect / disconnect the HDMI cable. A right royal PITA! The EZQuest has a cable 2.5 longer and this makes all the difference. The HDMI port lies immediately below the front edge of my iMac and is now so easy to connect to. Perfect!!

I’m using this to connect a laptop (chrombook actually), to an HDMI monitor. I like it because there’s no large weight hanging off the computer cable to damage it, and the converter part is small. The converter part, where the HDMI cable plugs in, gets pretty warm. No reliability problems though, it’s been fine. To me, this is a better idea than a long cable with the adapter built in, because I can use any length m-m HDMI cable I want.

I bought the adapter for use it with my computer but it didn’t work because my computer doesn’t support it. But it works perfectly with my cell phone connected to my computer monitor. It wasn’t a waste at the end.

It doesn’t connect the HDMI well – blinking screen (or disappearing for longer periods) and becomes extremely hot when connected to the USB-C in my Surface Book 2. I had to buy another adapter. It was not possible to work with this one.
