Description
Connect a variety of devices to your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air with the 8-Port USB Type-C Multimedia Hub from EZQuest, which is designed to give you access to all the connectivity that many laptops lack. It connects to your host system using dual integrated Thunderbolt 3 connectors and provides one Thunderbolt 3 port, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an SDHC card reader, and a microSDHC card reader.
Charge and connect multiple peripherals using the Thunderbolt 3 port, which operates with bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s and also provides up to 100W of passthrough charging power, while the USB Type-C port operates at 10 Gb/s and the two USB 3.0 Type-A ports operate at 5 Gb/s. Connect one external display using the HDMI port, which support resolutions up to 4K / 60 Hz, and network connectivity is achieved using the Gigabit Ethernet jack. For offloading content from your digital camera or smart device, there are dedicated SDHC and microSDHC card slots, which may be used simultaneously.
Please note that the HDMI port only supports 4K / 60 Hz output on the 15.6″ MacBook Pro (2018-2020), the 16″ MacBook Pro (2019), and the 13″ MacBook Air and MacBook Pro (2020). Otherwise, the output will be 4K / 30 Hz.

Drives will connect but sometimes the dock cannot supply enough power to USB powered drives, which can shut off during data transfer. This is not something I would recommend to anyone looking to do data transfer on set

I have a Macbook Pro Touch and have been wanting one of these for a while. I saw a B&H special and purchased one. I have to say, it is great. Compact so it doesn’t add any additional weight, but sturdy to do the job. I have used it for all of the attachments and Does what it says. I recommend it highly.

The Port hub is very well built, the design is as sleek as the Mac itself and for what you’re paying ! It’s a hard add on to overlook.

It was connected to MacBook Air and no problem with the monitor display and USB ports. However if you attached an Ethernet cable, it is very hard to pull it out. Though I managed to remove the cable, it almost destroyed the flap that covers it. I don’t advise using this device if you want to hardwire your laptop to Internet.

I wanted to like this hardware because it is more appealing that having a dongle but unfortunately certain connections do not work well, for example if you are using a firewire adapter it will not connect. It used to snap securely into place, but the problem is that the designers did not include enough clearance between the bottom of the hub and the bottom of your laptop, in other words they made it very flush, so if you set up your laptop somewhere that is not perfectly flush there will be some pressure on the connectors. IMO they could have offset the bottom a bit.
