   This is a polyresin skull, a little smaller than life size. It is a perfect decoration for Halloween or for the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead. It is colorfully painted and can be used as is, but it has batteries and lights up, which makes it even more colorful. The lights change colors. My only wish is that it operated on AC, because I like to put out Halloween decorations, such as a light-up pumpkin, about two weeks in advance, turn them on, and leave them on, and you can’t do that with battery operated devices because the batteries will wear out. However, I realize that many holiday decorations are battery operated, so this is really no different than most. I can turn it on and off as needed, and if the batteries wear out, I can display it as is or replace the batteries. One small issue, when I took it out of the box, I heard a rattling noise, and a small piece of polyresin fell out. I cannot see any visible defects so it was probably just something left over from the molding process but I would think they would shake these things out at the factory before packaging. Other than that, no issues.

   Due to COVID-19 Halloween almost didn’t happen this year. But the weather was warm and we decided to set up our candy table out in the driveway, with our light up Jack o lantern and creepy head. We also had a 3 foot light up skull in the window. Halloween was a blast this year. This battery operated day of the dead skull will be a great addition to next years display. It changes color in about 5 different patterns, so it should get lots of attention by the trick or treaters.

   This skull is not as light colored as the pictures indicated, it’s more of an aged bone look which probably adds to it spookiness! I just got this today, so I haven’t had the chance to see what this looks like in the dark, but it has a whole rainbow of colors it cycles thru. I just attached a couple pics of two colors and one with it turned off. I actually got this for my older son, I think he’ll enjoy it.

   Cute skull for the Day of the Dead guaranteed to delight young and old alike. Makes a nice center-piece for your celebration table or a simple decoration on your mantle or side table. The multi-color LED changes automatically to give life to this skull. It operates off of 4 pellet-like LR44 batteries that are accessible through the bottom. I’ve had my skull lit for a couple of hours now but still not sure of the battery life.
