Three pneumatics in one carrying case: 22 gauge 5/8th inch upholstery stapler; This unit worked very well when I finally put the bottom back on my couch. Very comfortable to use, has a adjustable exhaust blow back with a pressure range 60 to 100 PSI. Internal filtration to keep out debris.18 gauge 1-5/8th inch stapler with a pressure range of 60 to 110 PSI with an oil free design and a non-marring safety contact to surface. This too is a very comfortable tool to use and well made.18 gauge 3/8th to 2 inch Brad Nailer. Again, quality tool with a comfortable grip, 60 to 100 PSI with qualities like the rest. Please be sure to read all instructions per tool for safety and understanding of each tool. Also don’t forget to put a drop or two of suggested lube to keep tool firing correctly. These are very good tools and I am glad to have these in pneumatic collection.

This is a review of Freeman’s Pneumatic Corded 3-piece Brad Nailer, Stapler and Upholstery Kit with [a very nice] Bag. A supply of fasteners is included so you can use it out-of-the-box.These are “finesse” tools in my opinion, not a woodworker’s everyday grab bag. But okay for a hobbyist.[Recently, I’ve experienced the pure delight in using the new battery-powered nailers and having to lug out the compressor each time I need to drive a few fasteners is a big turnoff. You can bet I;ll be standing first in line when those electrics become available to replace the tools in this kit!]The PBR50 is an 18ga nailer for 3/8-to-2″ brads … great for applying trim; it needs 60-100 psi. Its manual is 5 pgs and clear. The anodized construction makes it lightweight; it’s said to have an ‘internal’ air filter … a first for me … but no way to access it. It lacks an anti-mar tip and has no depth adjustment [yikes]. Clearing jmbs is cumbersome at best. The tool is stamped with ‘oil me daily’ while the manual says ‘no need to oil each time]. The exhaust deflector ring is loose and flimsy. Ergonomically, it’s balanced well and feels comfortable in the hand. The PST9040 shoots 18 ga 1/2-1 5/8″ 1/4″ crown staples which makes it versatile. [I like to use 3/4″ to secure sandply back to my furniture builds. This one comes with an anti-mar tip and depth control; the manual is 3 pgs. Loading is easier than the brad nailer. The P2238US shoots 22 ga 1/4-5/8″ upholstery staples. Got to admit, I have never has a need for such a delicate tool [I glue in felt linings on my box builds] … I don’t any upholstery work … maybe if I start making valances. No anti-mar tip; awkward safety is a lever beneath the trippder [not a plunger at tip] … I don’t like that.In summary, this is a kit for once-in-awhile hobbyist … who just happens to have a small compressor hanging around.

I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the reliability and features built into this versatile 3-piece pneumatic fastener kit. The tool casings are made of both metal and plastic for great durability along with a terrific rubber grip for comfort. The grips are extremely comfortable with a nice tact. Great quality feel! The first tool and the one I use the most is the 18 gauge brad nailer accommodating 5/8″ to 2″ brad nails and features a no-mar tip to keep surfaces free of marks. The 2nd tool is the 18 gauge 1/4″ crown stapler accommodating 1/2″ to 1-5/8″ crown staples. It also has a no-mar tip. The 3rd tool is a 22 gauge 3/8″ crown upholstery stapler with an extended nose for hard to reach areas. The kit includes pneumatic oil, an allen wrench, optional belt hooks and a starter supply of 500 fasteners for each tool. Each has a 360 degree adjustable air exhaust on the head that ratchets as you turn it. Each tool also features a quick release nose for clearing jams. They are all very light weight, reliable, very easy to use and extremely handy for those projects using lighter weight fasteners. I’ve used them for paneling, chair rail, baseboards, cabinet backs and chair repairs. The 7 year warranty is an amazing bonus. I’ve been extremely happy with this kit. Even the tool bag itself is top quality from heavy-duty nylon, a really nice velcro front pocket enclosure and a zip up close for the bag. The only issue I’ve noticed is it’s not easy getting all 3 tools back in the one bag. It wasn’t long before I had larger fastener boxes that I wanted to include in the bag as well so I typically have to leave the tool I use the least behind and take the other 2 with me along with the fasteners. I had no idea I’d use this kit as often as I do and I’m super glad I have them. Plus I’m super delighted by the quality, the value and how reliable they are. Excellent tools!
