Just finished using this to install 600 sq. ft. 3/4″ Ash hardwood over 3/4″ OSB subfloor. Ash is HARD, it’s used in baseball bats and axe handles…This tool performed incredibly well, I am thrilled at the performance. Since it worked so consistently, I could focus on the flooring rather than the tool. I used a compressor set at 75 psi. Advice now: you can develop a routine with this tool, it will respond nicely – hit it in a consistent manner, it fires with authority, sinks the cleat perfectly. It takes literally one second to check the nail supply in the magazine, and 5 seconds to reload it. The included mallet has a non-marring face, so it’s perfect for ‘scooching’ the flooring pieces into position. BEFORE you start using this tool, take 1 heavy duty zip tie and wrap it tightly around ‘front’ of the rubber sleeve that forms the grip, to prevent the sleeve from trying to crawl off the plastic handle during use.

This Freeman pneumatic nailer has an ABS plastic handle that is lightweight making it easy to move and the vibration is minimal. The fiberglass striking mallet has a nice weight and feel.I installed tongue and groove flooring using 4,000 L-cleats for an 800 sq. ft. pre-finished oak floor and only had two jams (from hitting it at an angle) but they are very easy to clear. And I didn’t scratch any of the boards. I just kept loading the cleats and it kept on going. I oiled it at the start of each day and it worked smoothly. The weight of the mallet triggers the gun with just a normal swing. I used 8” spacing and got nice results.I think it is a great bargain.

It was easy to assemble the nailer right out of the box. Being light weight helps with the use also.
