Overall a good nail gun. I installed engineered bamboo 3/8″ and it had some trouble setting the cleat nail deep enough at times. Had to set the nails with a nail set so the next row would fit correctly. Maybe it was just the particle board underlayment ?It might be better going into plywood or maybe it was just the bamboo. I believe now bamboo is way harder than oak after installing this flooring product.

Installed bamboo flooring this weekend and really liked having this tool handy. LIke that it has two attachments for angle shots. It has a great 7 year warranty! We did not have any issues with jamming and were impressed with it’s smooth movement. Didn’t notice any problems with grabbing the subfloor, all the cleats went in just fine. The adjustible air deflector was a blessing working in a dusty environment.

Freeman produces great products at DIYer friendly prices. This cleat nailer is no exception to that. This is a 20 gauge cleat nailer so its made for thinner hardwood floors such from 5/16 to 9/16 thick. I haven’t been able to use this nailer in the complete installation of a floor yet, but I was able to test it on some 3/8″ engineered wood flooring that I had. I drove quite a few cleats in each plank. Many more in each plan than would be needed for a floor install. This cleat nailer performed awesome on my 30 gallon husky compressor at 65 psi. Drove about 100 cleats varying the speed at which I would fire the next cleat and it never jammed which is great. Fires smoothly with no tendency to bounce. Lightweight nailer that does not strain your hands and is not cumbersome to use.I really like the nailer and so far haven’t found anything that I dislike. Along with the 7 year manufacturer warranty you can be sure that you will get more than your moneys worth out of this tool. So if you are installing some thinner engineered wood flooring. Then pick one of these up. Great quality at the price.
